Cast is Off!!

1 day delayed in posting this update, but my cast is off!!! So far I love my new nose and Dr. Weber said it’s still very swollen so it will only get more refined.
My left nostril is definitely a bit larger than my right. This is probably only noticeable to me. He said this is swelling and will improve with time. My columella is also pointing slightly to the right when you look underneath. He instructed me to do nasal massage 10x/day for at least 2 weeks to correct the direction and make it more straight. He said this will not affect the appearance of my bridge or tip. I’m general, I love the slope and the tip is way smaller than it used to me so I am very hopeful!!
I currently am having lots of congestion issues. It feels like I have wads of cotton stuffed up there, but he said that will improve with time as well and to keep blowing my nose and using saline spray to get all of the crusties out. I think it’s particularly bad here in Denver since it’s winter/spring and it’s very dry.
He said that I could go back to my regular exercise routine but I’m scared of causing more swelling or long term damage. All the other doctors I saw told me to wait 2-3 weeks before exercising. I might do some light exercises but nothing like my regular Pilates and barre classes.
I will try and update this review in a few weeks time to keep everyone updated!

Day 2

Today was definitely better than yesterday. I still continued to ice my face and take it easy. I’ve been sticking to a soft diet and thank god my sore throat is almost gone. I swear that was the worst part!

I wanted to take a walk on the treadmills in the gym downstairs and I thought there wouldn’t be anyone in there during the day today. I was wrong! I had a rude awakening running into like 5 people lol! It was completely mortifying so I immediately turned around and went back to my apt! It’s far too cold to go for a walk outside right now. It’s under 30 degrees and rain/snowing. Not the best weather for a leisurely walk!

My swelling has gone down a lot today and my bruises are now different shades of red, purple, and yellow. I’ve been taking bromelain, arnica, vitamin c, and a multi vitamin.

I’m hoping to be less swollen and drippy tomorrow to go for a slow 30 min walk. Get the blood moving. I’m going crazy being cooped up in my house, but my bf has been wonderful the entire time. I definitely recommend having someone you love be with you during recovery because he’s made it so much easier.

I’ll attach a photo!

Day 1 After Surgery

The first night sleeping wasn’t too bad besides my sore throat. That’s the worst part by far. It feels like I have the worst cold in the world because I can’t breathe or swallow.

I slept with a large couch pillow and small bed pillow behind me with an airplane neck pillow to keep myself upright and straight. It worked out great. I didn’t move around at all. It definitely wasn’t my most restful night of sleep. I woke up several times to go to the bathroom, change my gauze, and take more meds.

When I woke up in the am I decided to love to the couch. I’ve definitelu swelled up a lot since yesterday and my bruising is reaching its peak (hopefully). I’ve been icing on/off for 30 min each and dozing off while icing. I think I’ll try and go for a light walk later tonight to get some movement in my legs. I’m already starting to go a little bit stir crazy so I think a walk will be great. I just can’t go anywhere with all these bandages on in pure daylight! Plus the sun of Denver would be horrible against my sensitive skin!

I don’t know if it’s because I’m so congested, but my ears feel much fuller and keep popping when I swallow. Another slight annoyance but nothing too bad.

I’ll attach a photo from today.
