I have always been a really slender built guy. In high school I maxed out at 110 lbs, even after hitting my growth spurt and going from 5'5 to 5'9 in one summer.
I remember the first time I said I wanted to get Pec Implants was when I was 17 years old, and started my first job as a lifeguard. One thing that I always have been very self conscious about was my rib cage. Not that I was slim enough to see my ribs, but the fact that they were flared out, to the point they protruded from my torso, and left me extremely self-conscious.
I have put some pictures below of me, one was my freshman year in college.
I started getting heavy into fitness in 2014. Convinced my metabolism was never going to kick the bucket, I was tired of waiting for genetics to "fill me out". So I hired a personal trainer and began working out consistently. A picture below shows me at my max weight of 140 lbs.
Even though I was becoming healthier, and growing in muscle mass (with much difficulty) the insecurities with my ribs never went away. I could not get my chest big enough to even out the appearance of my rib cage.
I am not comfortable taking my shirt off at anytime in front of people, or even wearing tight shirts because of the appearance of my ribs. A lot of the time if I am on the beach or pool party, I cover my rib cage up because of the protrusions. I would love to be able to be comfortable enough to not be constantly thinking of my ribs.
Hence my research started about corrective surgery.
Medically, there is nothing wrong with my body, everyone is built differently and I just so happen to have an insecurity that LOTS of other people might not even A)Notice or B) feel insecure about themselves.
I do know this, that if I have desired and wanted pec implants for going on 10 years, I'm pretty certain that its something that I am confident in my decision about, and not looking for a "quick fix" to a problem area.
More about that in a bit.
I looked around at some of the best doctors in the country, and narrowed my choices down to two doctors. The first being the "Butt King", Dr Stanton, in Bev Hills. He does amazing work, and at the time of my research, I was considering also doing butt implants (that was emotional issues that have since been resolved, GO DIVORCE! Lol). The second was Dr. Grossman, a renowned surgeon who works with a variety of social classes and has a practice in both, Bev Hills, and here in Denver. Obviously because I had chose against getting butt implants, and because of his ideal location. I chose to go with Grossman.
I had my constellation today, and he was AMAZING. His entire staff is absolutely wonderful and made me feel completely comfortable and even more excited.
Grossman came in with a huge smile on his face, and immediately put any anxiety I had about being in plastic surgery office at ease. He explained to me his procedure, and that because of my slender frame, we didn't want to "install" to large of an implant. We didn't want to take away from one insecurity, and add another.
Afterwards, I spoke with the lovely Christi, the surgery coordinator. LOVE HER. She was so kind, so amazing, and even more bubbly and friendly. Due to the fact that I have type 1 diabetes, it was important to me that I have a surgery first thing in the morning, so that I would not have to fast longer then needed.
The cost of pec implants thru Grossman is $5,310.00.
I am scheduled to have the surgery Monday October 9th. I will be posting updates of my healing. :-) I am so excited!!!
