Buyer Beware! - Denver, CO

I went to Lifestyle lift for a procedure to tighten the skin under my chin which went from my chin to the lower portion of my neck. I also had many wrinkles under there and jowls. I had my procedure in April 2011 in Denver. I don't remember the doctors name but she had long blond hair. The procedure was terrible, one of the worst expieriences of my life. It was done under a local instead of a general anesthetic. I heard the crunching, smelled my flesh burning , felt the pulling and cutting. That was bad enough but the doctor was very unproffessional, making fun of my fat tummy and making the surgery staff laugh at me. Allowing people to wander in and out of the surgery room while I was cut open. Nonsurgery staff as well as former patients who wanted to show the doctor their results. There is no worse feeling than being flayed open and helpless and knowing people are wandering in and out of your surgery room spreading germs as they please. I still am shocked that I didn't get an infection. I ended up in lots of pain during the procedure because the procedure totaled four hours instead of the two hours it was supposed to be. When I indicated that I was in pain the doc acted like I was a pain in the neck but would then use more local anesthetic to complete the procedure. When I was finally done with the longest four hours of my life my face was so swollen I could not eat or drink, people could not recognise me, my dog was afriad of me. I was in tremendous pain. I went back the next day as instructed and I could tell that the woman that inspected me was shocked when she saw me but when I asked her if this was alright she said it happens sometimes and is normal. I was unable to eat for five more days until the swelling went down enough for me to get a tea spoon in my mouth. Every time I spoke to anyone there (on follow up visits) they told me all I had experienced post surgery was normal and that in a few more months I would have the results I expected. It is now eight months later and the extreme sagging under my chin is better but not gone, I still have the wrinkles under my chin but now the area under my chin is lop sided and I still have my jowls. I have a large scar just under the tip of my chin that is noticable. The feeling in my face is mostly back.
They tell you that this is a diffrent procedure than other plastic surgeons would complete but it is NOT. It is the very same procedure just done under a local instead of a general. They don't inform you of this fact until you have given them a down payment. I would recomend that anyone thinking of having a "lifestyle Lift" rethink trusting them. Pay a little more and go to a board recommended physician that knows what they are doing. I blame myself for not looking into this more thoroughly before I used them.
