I am scheduled for a breast implant removal and a mastopexy on May 4th.

My implants are silicone 400/425cc. They are 20 years old, heavy and are bottoming out.

If you look at the one photo of how much I can lift that breast up, it's pretty crazy.

I decided to explant and not replace because I am 47 years old and I really did not see myself having to go thru all of this again in my 60s. I had to go thru a mammogram, a chest xray and a whole physical workup to get approved for the surgery.

My surgeon is a very reputable doctor who performs on the Hollywood elite. That is why the price is rather steep for this surgery. But, well worth it for primarily reconstruction my breast to make them perky.

I am a bit nervous to see what they will look like when it is all done because my mammogram showed that I do not have dense breast tissue. So, basically I was a C before I got my augmentation, but I could very well be an A when I have them removed. I am okay with this as having huge boobs 32F mind you...I have had years of back and neck pain and clothes fitting was pretty much a nightmare. I could only buy stretchy stuff so I wouldn't look matronly.

I will update with new images as I go thru my recover. Wish me luck!!!

Wishing you luck this week! Its a great change and I think it will look beautiful on you. I made the same decision six months ago and it was the best one I ever made!

Thank you so much. Having other's, like yourself, share their story has helped me feel more confident about my decision.

Very best wishes to you! I think you will be very pleased with your results - the happy secret is that those of us who explant in middle age have more breast tissue than when we first got implants. I was board flat when I got implants in my 20s and I am so happy with my shape now 30 years late after explant. Being natural feels amazing.
You are going to look great and feel even better!

That's good. I was a saggy c cup before but I'd be happy with s perky b cup. I do have more percentvfat now than my 20s though the same weight and size. So hoping I'll have something. I really care more about how perky and high they'll be cuz I'm totally over saggy boobs.

Thank you.

You are doing the right thing. I had mine out 10 days ago and I just realized today that my chronic upper back pain is gone. I kept my implants in a baggie and the bag feels heavy when I pick it up. I had my husband hold the bag and he said he couldn't believe I was carrying that around for 10 years.
April 29, 2017
Wow just read your comment to my husband I thought about making him carry them around. I'm only 108 and 5 foot 3. I've had neck and back issue for the last 15 years. So that part I'm totally excited about. And wearing real bras without feeling them pull on my shoulders.
April 29, 2017
Good luck! I am researching this as mine look much like yours and I want this done. I truly wish your surgery goes well and you get the results you want!

Thank you. 5 more days. Nervous and excited at the same time. I keep looking at all the young small boob models and that makes me feel better because the change is huge pun intended lol I'll post picks from my journey.

I got my prescriptions and my recover bras. I've decided to have the doctor take a little bit of cellulite off my saddlebags too while I'm under. It's only a few grand more and I've tried everything including competing in bodybuilding and the only time it went away was when I was 9 percent body fat. A girl can't maintain that! So to make up for little boobs I'm gonna get what I've always wanted. Don't judge.

Hey if you've got the money go for it! I must say you look amazing - I want your abs! And your hair is awesome too! You are going to look great with your natural boobs. I don't think you'll be smaller than before implants. If anything you'll be a little fuller. I watched a capsulectomy and explant on YouTube (!) The capsule and implant come out together and there is no breast tissue attached or removed in the process. If you have over the muscle they sit on your breast tissue and squash it and it takes a while to spring back - kind of like carpet that has had a piece of furniture sitting on it, if that makes sense. I think you will be thrilled with how you look and feel. Sending you positive vibes!

I have under the muscle. And wow thanks for the compliments. I used to be a lot more lean when I worked out all the time. I feel like a slug right now. Just really soft compared to what I used to be. My boobs I feel have gotten a little bigger, just because my fat to muscle ratio went way down. So, hopefully I have something. I almost would rather have smaller and perkier than bigger really. I want to get back into shape after I recover so hoping I don't love more boob after that. When I competed I had pretty much ALL implant. I looked stupid as I was ripped but had these sacks on my chest. LOL Because I am so small only 5'3" I have to maintain a 5lb weight range otherwise my close won't fit. Plus I have a short waste....so there is not much room for gaining anything unless I want to look like an apple. I am nervous only when I look at images of people that had issues. ugg I probably shouldn't do that. lol Only 2 more full days and up at 430am on Thursday to get these babies out!

*I hope I don't lose boob when I get into shape... There is no editing these comments, so maybe I should read them before I hit enter. lol

Haha!
Having implants out makes most women on average look like they've lost 10 pds. The only comments I had after explant was two people asked if I had lost weight. Yes I have ( technically) thank you! I was looking matronly with implants, I feel much leaner now and my torso looks longer. There are mirrors in my gym classes and I am so much happier with what I see!
You are going to look great. Your implants aren't that large so you have a lot of natural tissue. The majority of women are thrilled with explant. Only positive thoughts! Xoxo

Thank you. I just read a horror story on here and showed my husband her pictures cuz I don't want to over do it in my recovery and screw something up. Ugggh I need to just look st the good stories on here lol. Getting nervous mostly about the recovery process especially Joe that I'm having Lipo done too thankfully it's only small spots but still not looking forward to that. At least I don't have to go to a job but I'm the type to push myself so I literally have to just accept that I can't or shouldn't do much of anything for quite awhile I don't want to complicate the recovery. I'm not shy by any means so I'll post as many updates as I can thanks for the emotional support that's nice to have with people who've been there done that.

I think your body looks great! You are very small so I do think the implants are too big and I think you will be much happier without that extra weight! Good luck.
May 1, 2017
Thanks. Yes I agree. I'll probably lose 2lbs at least
May 2, 2017
No judgement here! I had full body lipo last year! Waiting on the right time for my TT and lift

Good luck with your surgery on the 4th. I hope your surgery goes well and you recover really well. I am also having my implants removed and a lift on the same day as you! I look forward to reading about your recovery. All the best :) x
May 1, 2017
Oh wow. Well I'll look forward to your updates as well. Are you nervous? I am in a way and excited in a way. Just hope I don't have any issues and I'm happy with my boobs after it's all healed. It's a big decision but one I think my body will be happy with as I want to continue to be active.

I am super nervous but also excited, so many mixed emotions really. I’m sure you will be really happy afterwards. I’m looking forward to getting really active again without boobs in the way and also wearing clothes that fit better.

Even though my implants weren't all that big I just got to the point where they felt like this alien thing, I was aware of them all the time. And they were getting hard again like the first ones I had. It's such a huge relief with them gone. No more surgeries is one of the biggest benefits.
May 2, 2017
I agree. I didn't want to do this all over again down the road. And that dang mammogram wasn't all that fun with her trying to separate my implant from my real boob ihhhh
May 2, 2017
Good luck honey. I am doing my surgery this Thursday. Just a breast lift , I never had implants. I have been nervous. I lot of my friends have boobs like yours now. They all were suggesting to get big implants but I am with you! Sending you love and support. :)
May 2, 2017
It's going to be a giant adjustment - I am tiny like you and had large implants. I can do so many more things and other posters are correct. You'll look and feel so much thinner after surgery. So excited for you!! Sending good thoughts your way and wishing you a speedy initial recovery. Hugs!
May 4, 2017
Good luck tomorrow! I just had my implants removed (with lift) week ago. I have very similar body frame and had large implants too. I decided to remove and not replace them cause I felt like I don't want to put myself through the surgery over and over again. They didn't match my body anyway and always felt like foreign object.
May 4, 2017
Exactly why I did it. But I started reading all the issues people have had. Neck back shoulder joint pain and gluten allergies. Well that's me too. Sitting in the waiting room right now hour and a half and I'll be under.
May 4, 2017
I am sure you will be fine. I had all sorts off issues that could be related to implants (back, neck pain, hair loss, focus and memory issues, joint pain) . I am just week post surgery and it's hard to say if all of it will improve. So far am hoping for the scars to heal and fade. Be positive. Good luck
