All, I had Dysport in April 2016, extreme acute vertigo in June 2016. Not thinking about the injection and vertigo connection I had Dysport again in July. Within two weeks I vebvams sensitive to light, sound, vertigo, nausea and severe teeth clenching that I fractured a tooth. I still didn't make the connection. In October 2016 I had Botox (did mention the vertigo to aesthetician & of course "she never heard about that"). Immediately I got flu like symptoms started having panic attacks, crazy anxiety, fatigue, loss of appetite, eye fluttering, loss of feeling in hands, intense vertigo and nausea. Finally I read the warning labels and sure enough all my symptoms were there. I've had so many tests and read so many stories, spoke with a toxicologist , neurologist & everyone says the same thing. Because it's not science backed it's not really acknowledged- they say it's medicine and anything can happen but we haven't heard of it. I've searched high and low and nothing about if the damage is permanent or treatment. You have to just wait it out. I am terrified not knowing what the damage is. I know my entire central nervous system is affected and all over some stupid choice I didn't research and at 35 no knowing when my life will return to normal.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope it will be ok. I will have hope for you that it will wear off. This may sound cuckoo but a Functional medicine doctor may be able to give you homeopathic supplements you can take to help your body cleanse. It's like toxicology (and a whole bunch of other disciplines) but with a different approach. Sounds like I am the opposite of you, I research the [RS bleep] out of everything. Sometimes it's paralyzing, most times I'm wiser for it. But I know that functional medicine could help you in some way and there's plenty of functional medicine docs in the Denver area. I hope you can find relief for your symptoms.

Thank you! That's the insane thing is I research so much that it becomes obsessive so I'm not sure why I never looked into Botox and the effects. I've done a ton of research on how to naturally boost neurotransmitters. So far I e found some things that somewhat help, valerian to sleep, sometimes chamomile. I take spirulina (a binding agent that helps with detox) as Botox can be reasorbed via the small intestine , I mean you name it. There are things that can lessen symptoms but nothing definitively takes them away.

It's funny you say that you're a big researcher... I am too, but I just jumped right into this. I spoke to one girlfriend who gets it for migraines AND cosmetic purposes and that's all I needed to hear. How very foolish of me. But understand that everything happens for a reason and this is no exception. My daughter (aged 23) has been plagued with migraines since her early teens. I've been trying for a few years to talk her into this and I'm actually glad I did it before she had a chance to. There's no way I'm letting her do this!!! She also battles depression and I can't imagine what she might do if it changed her appearance, even slightly. If I've saved her from trying it, then so be it. I'd walk through 1,000 botox fires for her. I also tend to think that this has helped me appreciate the way I looked BEFORE. No swelling, no additional lines, no puffy bags!!! I do appreciate how I looked prior and I pray every night that I'll wake up and this will be magically all gone. I guess my point is... try to see the positives. I firmly believe that they exist, even in this sh*tty situation. Take a step back and see the big picture. Most importantly, forgive yourself. We'll get there.... all of us will.

kewlmominwi- you are so spot on! Everything does happen for a reason and me too, I've learned to appreciate myself for how I am. That I don't need any alterations I just stay as God intended .you are also so right in the forgiving myself part, that has been very hard for me but I am working on it. You are right there are positives in this shhhhh - ituation lol. Please keep in touch!

Also, how are you feeling?
I'm still battling the dental pain from the anxiety but I talked with my primary care doctor and she wants to only temporary try an anti anxiety low does to get thru a few more months and then she wants me off to see if it's gone and if so no more. I really hate to take it but I need it before I fracture more teeth. So far it's been two- just found out about the second one this past week when I went to the dentist

I love the "shhhh-ituation"... haha! I'll definitely be stealing that ;) Some days are better than others. I can really tell that "the tox" is starting to wear off. I'm at 11 weeks now. The swelling appears to be more subtle in the eye area, but less so in the lower face. I've read on here that it can take longer for that to resolve. Most days I have hope, but I'm still prone to my depressed days and crying. I think of where I'll be 6 months from now and that makes me smile. I'd like to believe it'll be done by then.

Kewlmoninwi- that a good outloook to have. I too feel like yay when that day comes when it's all gone I will be so thankful and feel blessed. I have those days too but I have a great friend that pulls me out of it as it only makes things worse. I'll keep you in my prayers!

I have the same symptoms as you both. I got mine on the 2nd of February... 2 days later I felt like I couldn't catch my breath... then about the 5th day I had the worst headache... it felt like someone was squeezing it with a vice grip. This and muscle tingling in my arms, legs and hands.... this then made me have full on panic
attacks. I went to the ER, urgent care and my doctor.
All of my tests were really good aside from my potassium and sodium which was low from not having an appetite after this. ☹️ My headache subsided yesterday but I'm having numbness on the right side of my face. It fuels my anxiety... I hate it so much! This is my 3rd time ever getting Botox in my forehead (once a year) but never a reaction until now. I am now on an antidepressant (3rd day in) and Xanax for the panic attacks. I am also on a sleep med that's not really helping.... I am so tired and a mom to 7 year old twins and a 4 year old. It's been a huge struggle the last two weeks. I need to get my anxiety and sleep under control.. are your symptoms letting up? Do you have movement yet where you were injected? Please help.

Cevers84- I am so sorry to hear about how you feel, I know it sucks to put it lightly. Especially being a parent I only have one child and it tore me apart not being able to be at full capacity for months for him. Honestly yes as of right now my symptoms have lightened- I am almost one year from Dysport but 4 months from Botox . The Botox gave me the worst side effects but don't get me wrong the Dysport ones sucked too. Right now I just have anxiety (which sucks I've never had it in my life and not being able to control it is terrible) that causes clenching and subsequent teeth pain. It's not as severe as it was- the anxiety has been about 3 months peaking in January for 4 weeks. I have been put on Zoloft but it made it worse so my doc said stop taking it. Honestly I just grin and bare it- trying to cope as natural as possible so my body doesn't get overworked since it has a neurotoxin in it. I bought chamomile & ginger tea for nausea, try yoga stretching and deep breathing when the anxiety hits, I eat a lot of veggies and stay away from dairy products as that's what some of the makeup in Botox is. While I am okay I worry of a relapse- but honestly I just pray everyday and give it to God that this trend of feeling better just stays and doesn't go away. I can attest that things that happened I. The beginning subsided but then a new symptom hit hard. I had 3 panic attacks in the beginning but have not had one since November . I do have movement I. My forehead now and can see the little wrinkles that I initially tried to combat and I'll admit I am so happy to see them

Be careful with the anti anxieties, a lot have fluorines/ fluoride as a booster which crosses the blood brain barrier, creates porosity to allow the chemical to penetrate eliminate fluoride toothpaste eliminate sodium laurel sulfate, do oil pulling with organic coconut oil, get a very soft mouth guard for clenching ( sporting smiles.com) cranio sacral therapy / intra oral massage
April 5, 2017
All the above to help with the dental issues
April 5, 2017
I did not know about the fluoride! Thank you, I was oil pulling before and now I'm going back

April 9, 2017
To dear Li_miss34
How is you chelating is going and how much you are taking and is there any relapse before it got ok ? And I tried to reach the adress you gave but I could not ? Can I know it is talking about what ?? And regarding your symptoms .. I feel very sorry for you as I am suffering from it .. even before botox .. but for the first few months after botox it was like a hell .. Do you think your symptoms of clenching is due to anxiety or due to tempomandibular joint problem or after the pressure and tense muscle after botox ? Or due to all the above ? For me mainly due to TMJ and botox effect on my muscles
April 9, 2017
I never had anxiety before the Botox. It started right after injections. Due to the effect Botox has when it travels it causes anxiety which caused the clenching sonits like a domino and circular effect. It's pretty bad, I massage my jaw muscles and joints with castor oil (helps inflammation) but it's very bothersome. I've fractured two back teeth from it
April 15, 2017
Hi, how are you feeling now? What doctors had say about your situation? I have the same symptoms, but I started a months ago when I got juvederm injection. My eyes are burning, and the doctor just said that it's dryness..
May 1, 2017
Well the anxiety & clenching went away for about 1.5 weeks & bam back again but not as intense. The clenching is back with painful teeth but not as bad as a month ago, still bothersome. I take activated charcoal 3xs a week & chamomile tea during the day. The study link from above indicated that ssri's- anxiety medication makes symptoms worse. My doc gave me Zoloft & I took one and it made my clenching severe that night so now I take nothing but natural stuff. Started taking 1 Echinacea a day, and turmeric. Other than that nothing. Even vitamins sometimes make me feel icky. I don't eat dairy because Botox has a diary protein derivative- I'm lactose intolerant. I've been spending a lot of time at the dentist & endodontist because of my teeth pain- fractured 2 teeth. When I feel anxiety come on I shift my focus- pray, anything. Stress will make your symptoms worse. I am one year post Dysport, 7 months post Botox and while I am better than 3 months ago I am now battling the recurring anxiety and teeth issues .

Snoopy pls msg me I'm having burning in eyes too!! Doctors say I have dry eyes
January 26, 2017
I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. I was injected (infected!) almost 10 weeks ago. I have facial swelling and tons of pressure in my face, head and neck. Some days are worse than others, but two nights ago I had extreme vertigo that almost made me fall. I hope it's an isolated incident because my symptoms are slowly improving. I've read that symptoms are progressive; in other words, they get worse with more injections. I can tell you that I'm never doing this again!!! My face is beautiful just the way it is.... and I'm sure yours is too.

I'm eating very clean - paleo diet. Lots of vitamin C, zinc, B vitamins and supporting my liver and lymphatic system with herbs. A lot of nuts an avocados for the skin - sweet potatoes, turmeric and ginger for anti-inflammatories. It sounds like you require neuro support. Dr. Morse has a great line of herbs that are very pure and potent. I don't sell them, so I have nothing to gain by saying that. I'd look into it.... and you may want to youtube his protocol online for detox. It's all about detoxing the body now, since we've both been "toxed". If you have any questions, feel free to message me direct.

I pray for a lot of ladies on here and I'll add you to the list. I hope you're feeling like yourself again soon.

I've been doing natural treatments via my own research. I've spoken to a toxicologist, to Allergan you name it. Botox can not simply be detoxed it's a complex protein and can be reabsorbed via the small intestine which may be why people relapse) I havjust been using things to treat whatever is going on that week. I drink this herbal tea with chamomile & ginger when nauseated, began drinking all plan protein drinks, cut out meat and dairy, take b vitamin supplement with choline , spirulina, ashghwanda, they help to soothe nervous system. I've spent a ton of time researching about how to naturally boots neurotransmitters which Botox interrupts via the central nervous system. One day at a time, lots of faith and prayer. God is getting me through this. I pray for all of you that have been impacted by this, uts terrible how $ overrides safety

Hi ladies, I am feeling all of your pain as I too made the BIG mistake of having Botox 4 months ago. My face is horrific now compared to how it was. My reason for getting Botox was to try and stop looking so tired..................the result is that I now get asked 3 for times a day if I am tired. This is due to the awful malar bags/festoons that I now have under my eyes. The Botox has worn off in my forehead and frown lines, so now I have the lines I started with, but now with the addition of baggy/puffy horrible cheeks that make me look 10 years older and as though I have never slept. I am struggling to find an doctor/surgeon to help me as everyone seems to say they have never seen this result from Botox before, which is baffling as I can find hundreds of blogs /reviews from women who have had the same awful outcome. It is....without question.....the single worst thing I have ever done in my life. I go to sleep thinking about my ugly face and wake up thinking about it. I look in the mirror a hundred times a day just hoping that I will see any tiny sign of improvement. 4 months in and it is worse than ever. Please tell anyone you know NEVER have Botox. I look at photo's of myself prior to the treatment and now cant even see why I thought I needed it. Its true what they say, you don't know what you've got til it's gone. I wish I had my old face back, crows feet and all and would pay a million pounds to get it back if I could. Nobody seems to want to deal with it as they wont acknowledged that the Botox has caused the problem. Warm all your friends and try and save them from this misery...Good luck with your recovery ladies.x

I am so sorry, I truly understand how frustrating and scary this can be. I have been telling all my friends about what happened and to never go near that poison. It's been a long road but my faith in God is the only thing hat has pulled me through. I have learned how to love myself for me, and to never do stuff to myself again. Life is too short. One day at a time, I will pray for you and all that are going through these terrible effects. One day at a time, even when it gets dark remember the sun will come up again!

@shellunderwood I could have written these words myself as it describes exactly how I feel now after my last Botox experience. I also had microneedling done a month prior. I have had Botox for my forehead lines several times with no issues and thus decided it couldn't hurt for my crows feet. I was horribly mistaken. I now have very dark tear troughs where I didn't have before making me look tired and older and now I have a brown discoloration surrounding my entire eye like a raccoon which exacerbates the tired look. My eyes and the skin surrounding my eyes were my best feature. I was hoping to ward off the small lines with preventative measures like Botox. Now people ask if I've lost weight (also volume in my cheeks have sunken dramatically), am sick or tired or both. Whereas before, I was complimented for my beauty and not looking my age. My dermatologist denies its related to the procedures. I'm now obsessed with analyzing my face and anxious it won't bounce back. My husband is at his wits end with my self absorption with my face. He does not like any of these procedures and didn't feel I needed any of it. He was right. I was too self critical of myself before and now would give anything to have my old face back. My hope is time and God will help me get back to the healthy bright glowing face I had before. And I'll gladly accept the fine lines!
