Post Op check-up

buntney
WORTH IT$23,000
I went to my postop check up on Monday and Dr. Coomes, Said that everything looked great and was impressed by the progress that I’m doing. He did a awesome job I’m feeling a whole lot better I am a little sore and is still on the course I’m I’m still eating soft food and then next week they’re going to check again and see if I need any just meant on my temps I didn’t need any this time. I want to thank everybody for their advice on here it helped a lot I got the ARMICA Cream for my bruises and they are almost all gone.
I did take the bike it in and I did take a ibuprofen on the hot all last week I stop taking it on last Friday and I’m also using is called pro relief Oxsee fresh and it’s a gentle gentle to fresh meant and it helps for sore spots from dentures, and that helped me a whole lot, and I did the saltwater rinse after every meal, then did the anesthetic rinse in the morning and at night. It’s going a whole lot better than I thought it would so I’m very happy!

Thank you! I’m glad you’re doing well also.

Thank you for posting. I’ve been going through the consultation process but teeth hurt all the time now. Hoping to be able to get dentures supported on fixed implants rather than snap ones but most of the process should be the same. Trying to keep from going crazy from the pain until full mouth extraction can be done, which could be a month or so out yet.

My teeth were killing me so bad the last three or four weeks before I had my extraction and it felt like every tooth in my mouth hurt, I got some Anbesol, Extra strength adult extra strength gel and it’s for 12 years plus from Amazon, and it works really good plus I’ve used at night Orajel mouth rinse for a toothache it’s a double Medicated. I still have pain but it helped a lot. But the pain also helped me to justify getting all my teeth pulled out. I think you will really like the fixed ones Because you won’t have to take them out.

Thank you! You give me hope! I have been so afraid that the painful teeth would affect being able to have the extractions and getting the implants put in. I have been using the measures you mention, plus ice, the saltwater rinses and baking soda paste, and have been on antibiotics twice. Your situation closely mirrors my own so I know I can hang on until I can have this done. Your teeth look awesome! Again, thanks for sharing your journey.

Surgery completed Dec. 22, 2018

buntney
I had all my teeth pulled out yesterday, 8:30 am, Dec.22, 2018. I took one atavan and didn't fill any different so I took the second one after 45 min. I remember getting into the car but that was it and then remember being home. So nice feels like someone else had the surgery for me and then gave me my mouth back after it was done. I drank a protein drink when I got home and then took my pills and iced it, and slept. when I woke up I thought it was the next day. I had some bleeding but not a ton.
Today really tired and just resting, I'm not in a lot of pain, just a little discomfort, from the swelling, the tempts feel great!

They look great. I remember looking at mine the next day but really didn’t get to see them because I had swelling and couldn’t open my mouth that well. 2 weeks now and I’m feeling good.
December 24, 2018
I’m glad you’re feeling better, my mouth is still sore, but I know it will take awhile.
December 25, 2018
I have a few tender spots and few more bruises popped up, its a lot better then I expected. I already can’t wait for the permanent, I don’t like the roof of the mouth covered. I’m going to try to stick with soft food. I’m so glad you’re doing so well!

Before picture

buntney
These are my before pictures and if I didn’t have so much pain I would keep these teeth but they caused me so much pain I am so happy to be getting them out!
Yes I am anxious and I know that it’s going to be very very weird when all the teeth are out and it’s going to be weird having implants sticking out of my gums but just not have pain that is going to be so wonderful and it over seeds everything else! I do want to find out when I can put over the arm abutments that are on the implants when I take the snap on dentures out at night what to put over those because I grind my teeth and I don’t know if I will accidentally grind my abutments when I’m sleeping at night, I wear a nightguard on my teeth top teeth now so I’m sure they probably can make me something like that to put over them at night. I hope everybody else that’s going through this I am how successful surgery and successful outcome.

Sorry about some of the spelling and grammar I use the talk to text feature On my phone and it doesn’t always come out right.

I just had the all my teeth removed and temp implants in on the 10th. I had Periodontol disease with a lot of bone loss. Although my teeth didn’t look so bad I was having lots of pain an had lost a few teeth. The pills they have you take before the surgery are great. You don’t remember a thing. I never had any bad pain but did get a lot of swelling bruising , I only used the Motrin and didn’t need the Norco. I don’t like taking lots of meds so that’s good for me. Today is day five and I’m starting to feel better. Then I went to my 2 day follow up I hadn’t really seen with my teeth because of the swelling. I did mention that I thought my top teeth were a little bit crooked and the doctor agreed. Now that I can see my teeth better there is a lot of things that I’m not happy with them about how they look. My doctor gave me his number to text so if I have any problems but I’m just going to wait until I have my appointment with him next week . I really like my dentist and everyone in the office and I could have gone elsewhere but I have complete faith in him and that’s important to me because I’ve always had a fear of going to dentist. I am not sure why the temps are not that great and I hope this isn’t an indication of what my permanent teeth will be like . But I doubt it because he to seems like a perfectionist and as much money as I spent I will make sure they are what I want. I have gone back-and-forth between the permanent and the snap ons and my dentist did tell me that I can change my mind if I decide to so we’ll see. Good luck with your procedure and let me know if there’s anything I can answer for you.
December 15, 2018
Thank you for letting me know how your procedure went, that makes me feel good to hear about other people‘s experiences. My dentist said that the temporary teeth are just that and you pretty much get what they give you and they can make some adjustments if needed and stuff but most of them aren’t that great, so I’m expecting them not to be very good. But as far as the permanent ones, they have you try on different looks and decide which ones you like the best and have them made, He also said with the permanent teeth that the teeth are dropped into the fake gum and it makes it look more like real teeth, so I don’t really know but I think they’re going to be great and I think your permanent teeth are going to be great too,. I’ve heard a lot of people aren’t too happy with their Temps. but that’s what they are there just temporary teeth. So are you going with the snap on or are you going with the fixed? I see the positive on both of them. I did get me a water pick and I’ve been using it and it works great I got the kind that doesn’t have a hose it’s just one unit and you just hold it like a electric toothbrush and squirt it through your teeth , so I’ll be used to it to use for the enbutments To keep them clean. I’ve been trying to keep everything really clean and sanitized in there to make it so it will be nice for when they do it and help prevent any complications. let me know how your teeth are going and Send some pictures when you get your permanent ones. I’m hoping I won’t have to use the Norco either but it’s nice to have it on hand just in case. My teeth have been in so much pain lately it’s going to be such a relief!
