Bone graft heal along w piece to hold screw .. just had post put in today
So I didn’t update when I had the second step which was the metal piece that the post is screwed into .. all healed up great .. today April 29 8am went in to have gum reopen for post to be put in and heal before the actual tooth implant is put on .. my bone graft and other piece healed so well the bone grew over the piece Dr Laggan had to drill through some of the bone to install post .. wasn’t too bad .. just not thrilled w any kind of oral surgery .. get anxious .. was numbed up and post was put in .. post in mouth is scannable for my dentist and was given a little metal piece to give to my dentist too .. appt in two weeks to get tooth :) .. will be starting the right side implant in Aug little more invasive vs the left side due to the fact my baby tooth is Horizontal in my gum line under my other tooth that’s broken :( not going to be fun had to cut the top tooth out and open gum line to get the tooth under out .. only bleed for about 35 min after procedure ..throbbing pain .. eating baby food and taking Tylenol every 6 hours works great
Healing up awesome
I actually had to postpone my procedure date from above to May 1 due to being sick for two weeks .. so I’m officially 30 days out and healing great .. I had them leave the stitches in for yo my anxiety they did loosening a little and I personally sterilized my little eyebrow scissors to cut off the loose stitch dangling the others just dissolved.. the bone graft stayed nicely tucked in and the gum just encapsulated over it ..just having to eat on my right side doesn’t feel good when the food shifts to my left side accidentally and goes into that space .. didn’t realize how useful that tooth was w chewing ., I tend to take smaller bites to control food staying on the right side .. just now started drinking w a straw every once awhile but lightly on right side only ..Starbucks outings .. used the nitro lid prior the first 25 days after surgery .. really happy how great I’m healing up and hope the second step of the implant post is little pain and continues to successfully heal :)
3rd night
So I woke this am w no pain so I’m taking that as a good sign but I did notice late afternoon my gum has turned white vs being pink color which I guess is a normal response when you have an extraction done plus I had a bone graft .. what I have read my gum will turn back to the normal pink within a few days .. but I’m really happy not to have any pain
