Final thoughts

Sorry I'm so late with my update! I ran out of my Biocorneum sample a couple days after my last update. Here's my final thoughts....
Negative:
*Sticky and takes a long time to dry
*Didn't improve the hypertrophic scarring to my BB
Positives:
*Pleasant scent
*Has SPF protection
*Did slightly lighten my TT scar
Keep in mind that different products work differently on everyone. This may have not given me the dramatic results I was seeking, but I've seen some amazing results on others :)

Try the kinesiology tape, cheap worth a try? I really think it's just time to age a scar lighter. I had appendix and laminectomy scars and the turned white disappered no special care. Of course it was 15 and 20 years. I think palmer coconut oil cream worthwhile too. I liked the biocorneum on my lift scars virtually disappeared.

Hi, thanks for your nice thorough review! I agree different products worth differently on everyone. I've used both Biocorneum and tape on different areas of my body. I hope you're able to find a product that works for you. My personal reference has been tape for larger scars. If I could also make one comment about the Biocorneum being "sticky" and taking a "long time to dry". I'm wondering if perhaps you might have been applying a little too much and not rubbing it in well enough. Please forgive if this was not the case. However that was my mistake when I first started using it, not to mention I was wasting a lot of it. And let's not talk about the cost not to mention wasting it. LOL I did finally see a video on how to apply it; and I was very surprised at how little was needed and how thinly it was rubbed on. I realize this is a moot point for you now that you're no longer continuing with the biocorneum. But just thought I would mention for others that might be experiencing the same problem... and perhaps applying it to thickly not rubbing in well enough. :-)

Excuse the typos: meant to say different products "work" instead of worth. And personal "preference" instead of reference. Lol.

Hi there! Thanks for all of those tips! I appreciate your input and it will be extremely helpful for those reading too! At first I did put on too much, so when I applied a small amount I was surprised that it was still sticky :/ either way, no matter what I use I just think I need time for it to fade :)

I like your pictures. They are clear and are very easy to see the differences. And you are so flat! My plastic surgeon injected a steroid into my scars behind my ears for my lower face lift and I was so amazed how flat they became with that. Seems like there are answers out there but if you don't know that, you're at your doctor's mercy.

I did get steroid injections before I started the Biocorneum. My BB def does look better but I really want the redness to go away! I feel like it screams "I had a tummy tuck!" Lol! No bikinis for me this summer, but hopefully the redness goes away and I can show off my tummy next summer :)

Did they use Kenalog when you got your injections? That's what they're doing on mine right now. My bb scar went hypertrophic (sad face). I'm hoping the Kenalog will flatten it out.

I put an embrace strip on my bb and it made it worse :/

Ugh...I don’t know what the secret is to a perfect BB. I’m 9 months post op and mine hasn’t improved :/ still a thick, red scar. Some people have such nice BBs and there’s no scar

That is EXACTLY how I feel! I feel like at this point I'm going to need a revision on my bb. I'm only 5 months out though so I am hanging on to hope!

shivaangel you know what i discovered?? that I may be allergic to the silicone in most products. that’s why it was so red. I started using cocoa oil with vit e and it’s so much better now ;)
User Avatar

Huh....I should look into that. How did you discover it was thesilicones doing it? Did you just stop using it and deduced that when it got better it must be the allergy? How long after stopping using silicone products did you notice the improvement?

I stopped using the silicone products and started the cocoa oil. I think it was a couple weeks and I noticed a difference. bought some more silicone product and it got red again.

Good call. I'm gonna experiment too then. Stop using the scar recovery gel for a month and just use the Palmers and see what happens. I don't really feel like the gel was helping anyways.

The pics included are before Biocorneum and after 6 weeks of use. Not a dramatic difference noted, but I feel the scars look slightly better.

Thank you! It's just my darn BB is so red. I feel like it's a dead giveaway like "yeah that lady had surgery" I feel like the Biocorneum helped a little, but I think what I really need is time....ugh!

Hello my friend! ! Can you tell me if you feel like your abdominal area gets firm at the end of the day? I also feel bloated sometimes. I haven't began any exercise program as yet still having what feels like inflammation in my lower back. I do a lot of stretching. Hopefully will do my first yoga session this weekend. Your scar looks good. It's just gonna take time. I have stopped worrying, one, no one besides my husband is gonna see it and two I know in time a year or two if it bothers me I belive laser treatment may help. Please keep us updated.

Hi there! So happy to hear from you! Yes my belly gets firm by the end of the day but it depends on how my day goes. If I’m on my feet all day and eat a lot and unhealthy food then yes I’m super bloated and firm. If I stick to my low calories and drink a lot of water then it’s not so bad. As for my TT scar it is fading nicely, it’s just my BB scar. It’s so red. I’m hoping it will fade at least by summer. I’m hoping to show it off lol! Good luck with your yoga! I hope it goes well for you :)

Week 5

User Avatar
Mommymakeover2017
So I've been using Biocorneum now for 5 weeks. Twice a day on my BB and once a day on my TT scar. The scars aren't getting worse, looking a tiny bit better each week, however I'm not seeing any drastic differences. They are still dark and a red/purple color. Going to continue using the cream until I run out.

My dr gave me this to use from two weeks on. So I've been using it for nearly four weeks now. The first tube ran out in about two weeks so I got two more tubes at my visit last week. I didn't realize how expensive they were $80+ each. I don't really notice much difference with it. I didn't use anything on my c section scars. I'll use the tubes I have but I wouldn't rush to recommend it.

My Dr said most important thing is 30+sunscreen even under clothes or she said sun will make scar permanent

Oh i didn't know that! Thanks for the tip! The Biocorneum has sunscreen in it, then I apply actual sunscreen over top :)
