Pictures of My Scar - 1 Year Later (What Scars?)
holymolleyAugust 15, 2019
I can't express how happy I am with the results of my arm lift. I now have beautiful slender arms. Never thought arms could feel & look so sexy. Showing them off with all my sleeveless clothes.
The best decision I ever made. Feeling as young as my spirit instead of my age.

Arm Lift 11 Months afer surgery

Where do i start? An incedible journey that has brought so much confidence, happiness & joy into my life. I had such urgly arms after weight loss & probably aging skin. Never thoght about surgery until i entertained the thought of plastic surgery. Exercise didn't help & it was then i did my research in finding only the best to perform my surgery.
I live in Mexico & though prices are half the amount in the U.S., i didn't want to save a dime for botched up work. Most docters in Mexico could not show me Before & After photos of their work. I wanted an outstanding plastic surgeon with experience & wanted the job done right the first time. I found am amazing plastic surgeon & the rest is history.
Now 11 months from after i had my surgery and my arms look fabulous. Never thought arms could make me feel so sexy once again
I'm so proud to show them off. And my scars? What scsrs? They are hardly noticeable. I think alot of the credit is due to the surgion in making such a fine thin incision. Experience is the key.
Good luck to those that plan on doing this surgery. Just be sure you do your home work & pick only the best surgeon you can find. You only have one set of arms & there is no room for error.

Wow!! you look great. That scar is almost invisible. I want to do it..but soooo paranoid about the scar. Did she handle your out-of-town accommodations? How long before you were able to travel back to Mexico? Thank you for the info.

Thank you!
The doctors office recommended a hotel which provided me with a discount rate.
I was able to fly back on my 21st day ( 3 weeks).
Don't be paranoid about the scar. If you have an experienced surgeon, you will be fine. Insist on seeing their work - Before & After pictures. Ask them to make the incision in the most hidden area as possible. I've seen Realself photos of scar incisions that were Unbelievable. Incisions that were not hidden and scribly lines all over their arms. Unacceptable.
This surgery was the best decision i ever made. It literally changed my life & has made me so happy & confident. I now look forward to buying sleeveless tops to show off my sexy arms. You won't regret it.
Best of luck to you!

Thank you. I also live in Mexico and am planning to have an arm lift in San Diego for the same reasons you list. I’ve interviewed three surgeons, and feel comfortable with all of them, so the decision will ultimately come down to scheduling and cost. Two surgeons said I could count on going home...to Mexico...in about seven days. One wants me to stay for four to six weeks, which I could do. Could you share your recovery experience? When can I reasonably plan to return home, to bandaid/first aid care only in my little pueblo?

I wanted to return to Mexico asap but was told the soonest I could return was in 3 weeks (21 days). The reason being for my own safety. It was explained that i could get a blood clot when flying so soon after surgery. The doctor also wanted to see how the incision looked & how the scar was healing during my 3 week stay in the U.S. I had to see the Dr. twice after my surgery during my 3 week stay. The 1st appointment was 3 days after the surgery. The 2nd appointment was exactly at the 21st day; which i was then informed on what type of scar treatment i should use & for how long. i was also given instructions on how to use the arm compression sleeves & until how long. .i was then free to travel back to Mexico the very next day.
Strange a doctor could permit you to return in just 7 days. I was also informed blood clots can be dangerous while sitting if traveling by car & bus. A friend of mine just had a tummy tuck in the U.S. (she also lives in Mexico) & for the same reasons, was told not to return to Mexico until the 3rd week.
Fyi: i also flew back to the U S. for a 3 month appointment. My scar had healed so well that no other scar treatment was necessary & there was no reason for me to follow up with any future appointments with my Plastic Surgeon.
Also fyi: i stayed with a friend my 1st week in the U S. at her home. The first two days were a little tough. My friend literally helped me with some bleeding i had on my arm. She helped clean me up. It's nearly impossible to raise your arms. You are forbidden to raise them. So my friend was able to get me a glass of water & cut my food on my plate. I have long hair so my friend was helpful in putting my hair in a pony tail for me. I did not even attempr to wash my hair, because you can't lift your arms up so I went to a beauty shop to have it cleaned. Since i am single, my friend was of great help to me my first 3 days after my surgery.
In Mexico I took 3 blouses to a seamstress to have zippers placed in front of the blouse. This was very helpful since you can't put anything over your head since you're not allowed to lift your arms up. I also took a couple of bras to the seamstress to have her put hooks in front so i would be able to put my bra on by myself. This was also very helpful.
After the 3rd day of my surgery i was pretty much able to do all on my own.
After a week of staying with my friend, I went to stay at a hotel my last 2 weeks.
Hope this info helps you.
*Pain was bearable. Of course i had pain pills that i took for at least a week. I did alot of sleeping my 1st 3 days - might have been due to the meds. Was not a horrible experience at all for me.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am now two days from my scheduled surgery. (Unfortunately I didn’t find your reply until now, but very timely).
I decided to go with the more conservative surgeon, who wants me here for at least four weeks. He is on the staff at UCSD, and a former head of the Plastic Surgery Department, and I feel very very comfortable with decision.
Unfortunately, for some unforeseen reasons, my support person is not going to be able to help as much I we had planned post-operatively. I’m just going to have to tough it out. I’ve prepared as well as I can, and will deal with it. Thank you for your realistic discussion of what to expect.

How long did you wear your compression garment?
July 9, 2019
I was told 3 months, but i wore it an extra month. That was my call. Thought it wouldn't do any harm.
