WORTH IT
58 years old. Surgery on the 24th Jan with Dr Aykut Gok at the ,Ni?anta?? Hastanesi hospital Istanbul Turkey. I went by myself and felt very safe.
A friend told me Dr Aykut Gok does miracles, and I think so too. One night hospital stay and back to the luxury TZL Suites hotel right across the road. Booked and paid for Deep Plane Facelift with necklift, Rhinoplasty, Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty and liplift. Woke up and surgeon said they only did Deep Plane Facelift, necklift upper Blepharoplasty and Rhinoplasty because my skin was just too thin and will rather not risk it. They are happy to refund money back. Ice pack is your friend. Transportation, luxury hotel with breakfast, medications and creams including facemask were included in the price. The pain is manageable like a bad headache and with medication you are good. Binged watched all the movies and TV episodes have been promising myself to watch on netflix. Stitches was removed 5 days after surgery including staples in my head,, the remaining stitches are dissolvable ones. Sadly I couldnt go into the pool or sauna. The hospital staff were amazing. From Azra who was my first contact. She was super helpful and so patient with me asking far too many stupid questions sometimesx but was consistent throughout.i guess they are used to people being scared with these type of surgeries. Fatima was really sweet, Mariane such lovely lady I met on day I waiting at the hotel she was the one that took me everywhere, from blood to tests, she was also there for the surgery and when i woke up, then followed me back to the hotel. The hospital floor manager (handsome male) cant remember his name and the other staff were super helpful. Everyone I met spoke English He made sure I put all valuables in the safe and locked the door assuring me all was safe. In fact everyone from rhe security at the entrance to the anaesthetican, to the blood staff and ward staff.
The hospital room is huge it's about 25x 30 ft , patient bed in the middle and 2 sofas, so if you bring families theres sofa to sleep on.
This is a top notch operation.you are checked out after 5 days making 7 days of in turkey. They sent nurses to check on me twice to make sure I was ok. You go back to the hospital on day 5 for the some of the stitches to ne removed. there,Trust the process they say. From what I can see so far, apart from the numbness and swelling all looks great. From what I saw on noseguard removal day , my nose seem to look really good.. For now am not allowed to remove tape and bandage for 5 days. Fngers crossed that my nose will also look good.
My advice
1) choose surgeons working in a proper hospital and your surgery to take place in the hospital, and not some tiny clinic. Make sure you ask if your surgery will take place in the hospital. Anything could go wrong and if it does, it's best if you are in a hospital. Plus you can turn up at anytime even if yr surgeon is not there, theyll find a doctor to check your wounds.
2).take 2 eye gel masks (icepack) I only brought one and realised I should have brought 2. You desperately need them the first week, otherwise your face feels as if it's going to burst open from the swelling..
3) use Arnica herbal pills and Arnica cream constantly. Both side of face was very bruised after operation, and now on day 5 the bruising is almost gone. Still swollen though.
Good luck guys and stay safe
