Update 6 Months Post Procedure

WORTH IT
Six months out, and I could not be happier with my decision to have this procedure done with Dr. Singh. The work was subtle / natural enough that family and friends still don't know that I had a neck/facelift. My dad thinks I got my "old face back" thanks to taking Mounjaro???????????? Big thanks to Dr. Singh and his team!

Loving your jawline!!!! Can’t see your whole face but you look beautiful. How did you feel during and right after surgery? Any pain? When did you feel like yourself again? How are your stitches healing? You have any regrets? Anything you wish you could change? Did you stay in a nearby hotel? Any tips? Ooohhh and of course, how much was your procedure? I’m really really interested in Dr. Singh, which is why I have so many questions. I was going to go overseas but I’m too chicken. Dr. Singh is the only doc here that I seem to like due to his reviews… just hope all the other reviews are real. Any info would be so helpful and kind of you. Thanks and congrats!
I can’t edit my comment but was your pain that bad? Gabapentin doesn’t work for me. He wasn’t willing to give you anything stronger?

Amazing Results with Dr. Singh for Face/Neck Lift

I had a face/neck lift w/ Dr. Mansher Singh 3 wks ago, & I am so happy w/ the results so far & the experience overall. The post-surgery support has been excellent, w/ Dr.S texting & calling to check in on me at various points from his cell. I was so well taken care of by Dr.S & his staff, & I enthusiastically recommend him for such a procedure, which has given me 10-15 years of a younger me back, & I couldn’t be more grateful.

Me: late 40’s woman who's basically done everything mostly right over the last 25+ yrs to fight aging: ppl tell me all the time, including during my last mammogram of all places, that my skin is flawless. But I couldn’t avoid jowls (despite trying almost everything incl. fillers, lasers, RF, you name it) or the beginning of the dreaded turkey neck over the last 1-2 yrs where I started to see small vertical lines forming.

I get regular skincare at Coolspa in NYC, run by Dr. David Rapaport, who's amazing & quite a character: you can google the ‘09 VF article by M. Berliet for a sense of what his practice is like & just how honest/direct he can be, which I appreciate. Besides regularly getting skincare at Coolspa, I’ve seen Dr.R over the yrs a few times for filler. At my last morpheus session, I asked the aesthetician for info on NeckTite as my neck bothered me more & more. She brought Dr.R in, & we spoke about my concerns & whether NeckTite could help. He told me that I’d be unhappy w/ the results, would just be wasting $$ & that I needed a face/neck lift. B/c we had a conversation a # of yrs back when he bluntly said “the time will come when you'll need a facelift, but now isn’t that time,” I trusted this was his honest opinion.

I mentioned I was aware of Deep Planar facelifts & had been following news of these procedures incl. reports on Marc Jacobs’s by Dr. Jacono. As we talked, he took a close look at my neck & stated that Deep Planar might be recommended for someone like me given the particular nuances in my anatomy. He recommended I consult w/ his partner, Dr.S, who exclusively performs Deep Planar vs. traditional lifts in the same office. Before that consult, Dr.R provided Dr.S w/ the details of our convo & his exam.

In the initial consult, Dr.S answered all my q’s & informed me that I had the option to be awake during the procedure, which appealed to me as I don’t like unnecessary risks including sedation given I have a young child. His staff (which is the same staff I was already familiar w/ from my visits at Coolspa & Dr.R over the years) is very professional and responsive. The office is immaculate &, as described in the VF article, “lavish” & “pristine.” I obviously went on to research Dr.S thoroughly & read the almost unbelievably glowing 5 star reviews online, which along w/ a referral from Dr.R gave me the confidence to move forward with a Deep Planar face/neck lift w/ Dr.S.

I chose a procedure date two months out & started sending emails w/ qs every’ few days, & his staff would consult him and respond. On the day of, all went well. But I felt more discomfort/pain during the awake procedure than expected. You have to lie still for several hours while, & I noticed that various joints got stiff (I have joint issues, so that may just be me). I also felt some pain from the procedure itself, including the morpheus Dr.S did afterwards. So if I were to do this again, I’d very much consider sedation vs. awake as I now better understand how low risk the sedation option is & appreciate that the awake procedure can be uncomfortable. They had me select music during the lift, & staff made the experience as enjoyable as possible. One person later thanked me for representing GenX w/ my choices (Dr.S is on the younger side, so his music knowledge may be limited ).

My neck looked great right after b/c the inflammation had yet to develop. I needed to take oxy for about 1.5/2 wks (asking Dr. S for a few more & then he gave me Gabapentin for 10 days), as I experienced pain esp. at night. It can be uncomfortable to rest the side of my face on pillow. Parts of my face are still numb, & I’m told that can last a few months. The 1st wk, I looked crazy & probably shouldn't have left my apt or seen my child, which is easier said than done. 2.5 wks post, I was able to be out/about w/ little need to cover up as the hairline covers most of the work, & my chin scar was very subtle.

I did develop some fluid in my neck in the 1st/2nd wk that Dr.S was amazingly proactive in dealing w/. That’s where you really start to see the extraordinary care that people talk about in these reviews. It’s easy when everything goes right, but when something goes the slightest bit wrong, you really appreciate the personal care and attention you get from Dr. S himself. He had me see Dr.R for follow up on the fluid while he was out of town, & I received exceptional treatment & attention. For all of these reasons, I highly recommend Dr. Singh.

Thank you so much for your in-depth review. Your profile looks beautiful. I hope you're recovering wonderfully. I'm still doing my research on surgeons and costs but your review really helped.
What a helpful review! Thank you so much! You look incredible. Really beautiful and so natural. Loved the anecdote about your dad! I’m 46 and having the same surgery at the end of this month with Dr. Mao in CT. I’m nervous / but you’ve given me hope that all will go well. I’m doing mine under local anesthesia. Yikes! And I’m telling very few people. So hopefully friends and fam will just think I got a great night’s sleep and miraculously got ‘my old face back’ too!
If my FL/NL gives me the confidence I’m hoping it will, I will do my best to leave a review. Each time I get to read someone’s experience I feel a little less alone during this waiting period. So, thank you again for sharing. Xox
