4 months post-op deep plane facelift - I look 20 years younger

ORIGINAL POST

My Daughter Said That We Look Like Sisters Now

WORTH IT
I'm very thrilled to have my deep plane facelift. My daughter looked at me and said that we look like sisters. I waited 4 years to have this done and I'm ecstatic that I did it. I look at least 20 years younger. All my family love it and thinks I look amazing. My sister wants the same done now.

fantastic, people should be aware however that 'deep plane' is a very flexible interpretation...that (many) doctors use for marketing. the most important factors are surgeon's experience, surgical technique, and eye for lifting in the correct vectors. that usually means a plastic surgeon who does primarily face surgery and not boobs, butts, etc....and does maybe one face lift every few months. technically, any surgery where there's dissection below the smas can be represented to the patient as 'deep plane'! however, the deep plane technique that was described in the literature a few decades back is actually rarely done today. one, risk of nerve injury. 2, research hasn't shown it isn't better or longer lasting when all factors are weighed in. another consideration is there's no good in giving a person more invasive surgery than what's needed to get a natural result. doctors may argue (correctly) that the true deep plane method allows for more lift of tissues in terms of distance, but lifting more than what's needed to give a natural result will result in a deformed look - which won't look good! the trend now is to use a more conservative smas imbrication or plication, combined with restoring lost facial volume using fat grafting, fillers and silicone implants. these are reliable, safe, techniques with a relatively short recovery time.
The terminology can be confusing to laypeople. I had a lift and fill facelift and the results are amazing.
sentence edit to above: "research hasn't shown it IS better or longer-lasting when all factors are weighed in"
Best decision I made was to travel to St Louis to see Dr Nayak. Highly recommend
Dr Nayak is top facial surgeon hands down. From what I've seen, not personal experience tho I would love to know personally
