Not the Experience I Expected
I selected Dr. Patrick Davis from Davis Facial Plastics because of his reputation and excellent reviews. I made a significant financial investment, along with substantial time and travel from out of the area. I am not satisfied with the results.
After my most recent procedure, I raised concerns about the outcome. Dr. Davis was very clear that my expectations were not unrealistic. He agreed that the result was not what he had expected. He reassured me that we would work together to address the issue and that he would fix it. He advised waiting until I was fully healed before reassessing, and I agreed.
I relied on what I was told directly by Dr. Davis and waited as instructed. We agreed that we would reassess at the one year mark and develop a plan moving forward. I trusted that process. However, the primary specific issue I originally came in for remains unresolved.
When it came time for follow up appointments, which were conducted via Zoom because I am out of the area, scheduling became increasingly difficult. Despite repeatedly requesting more than one option and asking for several day and time options when Dr. Davis was available, I was consistently offered only a single appointment many weeks out, which made it very difficult to move forward.
At approximately the one year mark, when we had agreed to reassess and develop a plan moving forward, appointment availability again remained extremely limited and was pushed out.
There was a disconnect between how things were communicated to me clinically by Dr. Davis and how they were handled administratively. At times, I was told one thing and later given different information. This eroded my trust, particularly after my dissatisfaction had already been acknowledged and I had complied fully with what was asked of me.
Because of my continued concerns and for my own peace of mind, I sought opinions from other board certified facial plastic surgeons. They advised that I would likely require a full revision. I am now faced with the prospect of additional surgery and significant further expense to address an issue I believed would be resolved.
In spite of the many positive and glowing reviews, I would not choose to work with Dr. Davis again. If you are considering him, especially for an expensive and personal procedure, be very clear in advance about how dissatisfaction is handled and what access to care looks like once payment is complete.
