40 and Tired of the Poochy Belly - Decatur, AL

Almost 19 weeks post-op

$4,170
So were at almost 19 weeks, and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Swelling is way down and the hard knot of healing has shrunk down to a small area mostly just below the belly button. I am also starting to get back some feeling in that area, so all of the numbness is slowly fading as well. I am ecstatic about how I'm looking.

I'm going to Dr Arguello, staying at Verdeza with 24/7rn care. He is an excellent surgeon with great credentials and has worked in the us. I love Costa Rica as well and my deciding factor was the aftercare which I need as I have no one here to help. Your results r amazing. .I sent u r pic as a " wish pic" lol..thks

Are you feeling good about your procedure still? I was quoted exact same procedure due to my anatomy and not much skin above bellybutton. Did your belly button get moved down too much or attached back in same spot? Removed at stem? Or skin?

OK, so I'm at 3 months now and I'm feeling pretty great about how things are starting to look. I do still have some swelling, and some quite painful healing twinges, and I even sometimes still feel pretty tired, but it's getting better every week. Absolutely love Dr. Telepun!

You look amazing! I hope you are soo happy- you should be. I am PO10 and at a week my dr said I could go to spanx but I'm still in my binder because so far I haven't had a lot of swelling and I don't want to screw up the good mo'jo I have. :)
I thought I would wear spanx to my 2 week appt and see how I feel. So, how long did you wear a binder before you went to spanx-type compression? I want to follow his instructions but I don't know if there is a down side to staying in the binder too long???
October 21, 2015
Sorry this reply took so long, I've been out of the country. I wore the binder as long as I could, but somewhere around 3 weeks my doctor told me I was wearing it too tight and to take it off and just wear a simple stretchy type top. He never told me to go get Spanx. I did get more swelling after he told me to stop wearing it, but he said that I was wearing it too tight and it was not allowing the area to drain properly. I also felt like my guts were falling out, which was not fun, but I did what he said.

11 weeks post-op

So, I'm rolling up on 11 weeks post-op and I'm back to working out, somewhat. I seem to get tired more quickly. Plus, I am having some swelling occurring below the belly button and am really quite surprised at just how much pain comes with the healing process. I know things are healing by following the pain as it moves inward from all around the lipo area towards the belly button area. It just really hurts, but I guess it just hurts to have nerves repairing their connections. And, I'm still extremely happy with my results so far, which should be completely back to normal by the 6 month point, I hope. The pics in jeans are from 9 weeks post-op, where I was staying to feel good and the swelling was really decreasing, and the ones in the t and undies is this morning. So swelling is occurring again.
