Today, I reach week 4...

My cheeks are less swollen so my mouth doesn't run into them as much as they did a week ago.
The bruising on my face is almost gone. Without makeup, you can see little blotches of discoloration. I was so deeply bruised in some areas, it'll probably take a few more weeks for all of them to disappear.
The skin along my face next to my ears and going under my chin a little bit is numb. It'll take time for the nerve endings to grow back. Its kind of a blessing in disguise as if I had feeling, I'd be itching! Also, the skin along my wind pipe is sensitive to the touch. I guess that's caused by the muscles being tightened.
I have creases on my cheeks and neck from swelling. Yesterday when I smiled, I had a dimple in my left cheek. Today, its gone. Everyday it's something new! Also, under my chin there's a little piece of tissue that hangs down as its hitting the incision that's still firm that I'm to massage throughout the day. According to my PS, once it softens and smooths out, that tissue will as well. That's it for now...
I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

I've reached the three mark!

I went back to my doctor's office today and met with an esthetician who gave me a lymphatic drainage massage/facial. Oh, my goodness! It felt amazing!!! First, she massaged my face with coconut oil. She must've massaged it for 30 minutes! Then, she placed a green tea mask over my face. After she removed it, she gently massaged my face for about a minute. I drove home and fell asleep for about two hours.
I'll now post my weekly progress each Thursday. I wish all of you in the healing process that you receive the results you desire, and for all of those scheduled to have a facelift, hang in there! If I can do it, you can do it!

Good words from my family today...

I Skype every Wednesday with my two sisters in California. Today, they were shocked at how much I'd progressed since last week. They both said I look 20 years younger. Hooray!!!
This evening, my son-in-law commented on my progress. He was very enthusiastic!
I Skyped with my son, who lives in Oregon, a few minutes ago. He said, "Mom, I can't get over how good you look!" He kept mentioning my eyes and neck. He made my day!!!
I saw my doctor today and he's very pleased with how I'm healing. While there, I had another ultrasound treatment on my cheeks. Tomorrow, I have a lymphatic drainage massage. I'm going to ask when I can start some sort of a treatment on my upper lip to get rid of the vertical lines. Also, once the swelling goes down, I'd like another IPL treatment to get rid of the few surface capillaries that remain after the first treatment. Does this ever end? No matter, I'm sure having fun and I'm loving being pampered! Rather than having Home Depot or Lowe's be my home-away-from-home, it now becoming my PS's office...
I thank all of you who went before me who assured me there would be no real "pain", and for sharing your post op journeys in great detail. You gave me the confidence and peace of mind I could do this. Thank you!

Dr. Zamora has a gentle, attentive bedside manner. I always have many questions of my doctors and he was willing to answer all of mine in great detail. When Dr. Zamora is with you, there is no sense you're being rushed--he's there for you. His office environment is calm and peaceful, and his staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Most of them have been with Dr. Zamora for many years which is meaningful to me. Every time I've been to his office, I've had no wait time. If you're in the process of choosing a doctor, ask how many procedures he/she does in a day. Dr. Zamora only performs one. It was important to me that I had his full attention - he was focused on me - on my day of surgery. Also, Dr. Zamora a missionary surgeon who travels to poor countries to treat children and adults in need of corrective surgery. I was in the best hands...
