Today, I reach week 4...
laureenvJune 4, 2015
WORTH IT$12,600
My cheeks are less swollen so my mouth doesn't run into them as much as they did a week ago.
The bruising on my face is almost gone. Without makeup, you can see little blotches of discoloration. I was so deeply bruised in some areas, it'll probably take a few more weeks for all of them to disappear.
The skin along my face next to my ears and going under my chin a little bit is numb. It'll take time for the nerve endings to grow back. Its kind of a blessing in disguise as if I had feeling, I'd be itching! Also, the skin along my wind pipe is sensitive to the touch. I guess that's caused by the muscles being tightened.
I have creases on my cheeks and neck from swelling. Yesterday when I smiled, I had a dimple in my left cheek. Today, its gone. Everyday it's something new! Also, under my chin there's a little piece of tissue that hangs down as its hitting the incision that's still firm that I'm to massage throughout the day. According to my PS, once it softens and smooths out, that tissue will as well. That's it for now...
I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

I've reached the three mark!

I went back to my doctor's office today and met with an esthetician who gave me a lymphatic drainage massage/facial. Oh, my goodness! It felt amazing!!! First, she massaged my face with coconut oil. She must've massaged it for 30 minutes! Then, she placed a green tea mask over my face. After she removed it, she gently massaged my face for about a minute. I drove home and fell asleep for about two hours.
I'll now post my weekly progress each Thursday. I wish all of you in the healing process that you receive the results you desire, and for all of those scheduled to have a facelift, hang in there! If I can do it, you can do it!

Good words from my family today...
laureenvMay 28, 2015
I Skype every Wednesday with my two sisters in California. Today, they were shocked at how much I'd progressed since last week. They both said I look 20 years younger. Hooray!!!
This evening, my son-in-law commented on my progress. He was very enthusiastic!
I Skyped with my son, who lives in Oregon, a few minutes ago. He said, "Mom, I can't get over how good you look!" He kept mentioning my eyes and neck. He made my day!!!
I saw my doctor today and he's very pleased with how I'm healing. While there, I had another ultrasound treatment on my cheeks. Tomorrow, I have a lymphatic drainage massage. I'm going to ask when I can start some sort of a treatment on my upper lip to get rid of the vertical lines. Also, once the swelling goes down, I'd like another IPL treatment to get rid of the few surface capillaries that remain after the first treatment. Does this ever end? No matter, I'm sure having fun and I'm loving being pampered! Rather than having Home Depot or Lowe's be my home-away-from-home, it now becoming my PS's office...
I thank all of you who went before me who assured me there would be no real "pain", and for sharing your post op journeys in great detail. You gave me the confidence and peace of mind I could do this. Thank you!

Thank you, Surfeleuthera! I'm thrilled and thankful for my results. It's paid off to rest for several days. Yesterday evening, I spent two hours doing my first yard work. It felt good to be outside! Good like with the update of your eyes. I'm sure you'll be thrilled!

Glad to hear you're getting such great feedback! We're at about the same recovery time (it's Day 24 for me). Do you ever look in the mirror these days and think, "There's not much difference…it's just the same face" - and then you look at an old pic or the pics from your consult with your PS and you're just amazed at how different you look? It's funny that we can get used to the new face so quickly and just consider it the "new normal." Keep healing and impressing everyone with your new and improved, well-deserved look. And keep pampering yourself!

Oh, yes, 5532anon! It's hard to remember what I looked like before and it's only been 26 days! I have to look at the pre-op pictures to remind myself of the "old" face. Yuck... I hope you're as happy as I am with your recovery and new look!
