I had a tummy tuck four years ago. It was the hardest surgery I had experienced up to that point, and still is.
I lost seven pounds, took vitamins, and ate right prior to surgery. The day of, I was the first surgery, and four and a half hours later, I was done.
I went home; two drains on either side of my incision, draining normally.
After two days, the drain on the left side began to hurt to the point where I couldn't sleep- the thing had me crying until he took it out; which was done on a Saturday morning visit a few days later; yes, it was THAT bad.
I healed, the swelling reduced over the next few weeks. After about a month, the fact that my stomach still wasn't as flat as expected, was greatly apparent. Initially, he thought I had excess fluid on the left side, but quickly knew it was NF resting over most of the muscles on that side.
Liposuction was scheduled and done the following week.
A great deal was removed; enough that even though there was quite a bit left, I was happy
(I have a set of twins, and during my pregnancy, my Dr. wouldn't allow me to have cocoa butter, lotion, nothing at all, so my stretch marks are unbelievable), considering that so much of at least the marks on my belly were cut away(!)
Still, it wasn't flat, at least not on both sides and that is the dream, of course.
Cut to 2016--a few days ago.
I was feeling pretty good that day, and was able to get up and do a good workout, including abs. After I finished, the side of my stomach that harbored the fat pad, began to itch. No. Not just itch, but throb and itch. Eight hours later, it had become unbearable. I pulled up my PS's phone number, determined to give a call in the morn to get some advice, yep, even four years later. I had no idea who else I COULD call. In the meantime, I had 11 hours to wait.
The idea of reaching in, claws unfurled to scratch, is one that, if you have had a TT and this issue, is an impossible one. In my case, I couldn't feel anything there; the fat covered everything that would make a normal skin itch happen, so it didn't--- the itching is completely internal.
Tears creeping up on me, I started firmly tapping , then a sort of percussive slapping of the area. It felt amazing. Couldn't imagine why I hadn't tried it prior, except I am not in the habit of hitting myself. I continue to do this for almost an hour, and the sensation was one of scratching. INCREDIBLE. I finally fall off to sleep, happy that I was finally able, after all this time, to temporarily rid myself of a discomfort that I had suffered from for four years.
I wake up in the morning, itching slightly, and so I groggily tap as I make my way to my bathroom, yawning as I pass my mirror, glancing at my image as much as that means since I didn't have my glasses on yet.
My stomach was flat.
Well, not totally. The expanse of the fat had lessened, though. I quickly ran to get my glasses, and looked again. Flatter, and at that moment I noticed that I felt my fingertips on my stomach. To try to write what that felt like...As you can tell, I have no issue with words, but this is still too fresh for me to find any worthy.
I am writing this on day three of what I can only call my "fat drainage". I am almost totally flat, but even better, I feel whole again; well again.
