I had wanted to change the size and shape of my vulva ever since I went through puberty and the area grew, as Dr. Goodman says "quite robust". Being a former professional athlete who trained 20+ hours a week in a sport that requires extremely tight fitting clothing and a lot of movement, I was constantly getting chafed down there; to a point where I would bleed after bike rides and experience a burning sensation for a full week after long rides. During sex, the labia minora was constantly getting pulled inside my vagina and was extremely uncomfortable. Being tired of all the pain caused by my robust vulva, I decided to have a labiaplasty and clitoral hoodectomy with the goal of eliminating the chafing allowing me the freedom to wear certain clothes, experience fewer UTI's and no more chafing.
