I am a 29 yr old mother of 1! Love my little man to death, but my body never bounced back from my 65lb weight gain during pregnancy. I have managed to lose the weight and even had smart lipo of upper/lower abdomen and flanks on 1/25/14 (son was 9mo old). Lipo helped on flanks but left my abdomen looking worse than before -see pics.
I had my TT consultation on 10/22 and have a tentative surgery date of 12/26 (God willing). I am both terrified and beyond excited!!! :D
I would love feedback from the community on TT experiences, and will answer any Qs y'all may have!
I hope sharing my journey -past, present and future- helps some women on their path just as following some of the other RS ladies has helped me.

I just got a tummy tuck with lipo. I'm 28 and have two children. One a toddler, one a few months old. I always had a wonderful body until I gained weight and was awarded some stubborn stretch marks around my belly button and lower abdomen. I decided to go for a tummy tuck. I paid about 7 thousand. I feel like it was a stupid decision now kind of...so much money and inconvenience when I honestly could have worked out and eaten right. On the other hand my surgeon did repair my abdominal muscles and pull them back together.. It's only been two weeks so I may just be feeling the downs after a surgery. I did not have a serious body problem though. You have more loose skin to eliminate and could benefit more from the surgery than I did..bc of this you may have a more positive experience looking back. The surgery didn't even really get rid of my stretch marks. Remember how crazy the scar is as well. The best thing to do is see how low your surgeon can place it. This may not be the best advice you want to hear, but if you didn't benefit from the lipo and think your body looked better before...you do not know if you feel that same way again after this surgery (which is so much more invasive) Good luck I wish you the best

Thank you for your comments! I hope your TT ends up being worth it! I would love to see pics if you have them. I honestly never even thought about stretch mark removal until Dr S mentioned it in our consultation. My main objective is fixing m diastasis. I was a runner and rock climber pre kiddo so I was always in good shape. Always flat. The bulge destroys my self esteem every time I look down or try to wear a fitted top :( I am really hoping the TT will help me on that front. Losing this lose, saggy skin and the stretch marks are just icing on the cake! The scar… well, that will suck. Lipo did help me on my flanks. I don't regret that, and if I do have the TT in December I think having the area worked on previously will help my results. Unfortunately, the lipo did nothing good for my abdomen. Gaining and losing 65lbs created too much skin for even laser lipo couldn't help.

I'm so glad you responded to my comment. I have never been a part of a website and left comments for anyone on the Internet ever. And I really want to get back to you because I feel this is a very important subject. It has now been six weeks I think after my tummy tuck and lipo. I am pretty happy. I know it is a lot of money to spend and I do think I could've done a lot of work to get my body back however I never would've been flat and my stubborn areas around my entire upper and lower middle section including love handles were always so difficult to get rid of. This car is really really low on me I would definitely ask your doctor to see how low you can get it. I can wear a bikini and you probably won't be able to see it so I'm very happy about that. I'm commenting again because I replied to your comment when I was suffering some lows post surgery. I am excited for you all over again and I don't want you to think that my comment to you was trying to get you not to get the surgery sense. I am actually very happy. I absolutely love my new bellybutton! And my abdominal muscles are pulled back together which could've never been repaired if I didn't have the surgery.

Great to hear from you again! I'm glad you are happy with your results! I am definitely going to ask my surgeon on Thursday how low she plans on placing the scar. Along with MANY other Qs. My goal for tonight and tomorrow is to get all my questions together. I hope I don't forget anything! As for photos… You can add them to your page or feel free to msg them to me. :)

I am a week away from having a TT and I read your comment that you had two small kiddos while you had your TT. How difficult was it to care for them while recovering? I also have two small children, and just looking for experience and advice. Feeling very nervous.

Welcome to the group! I haven't had my TT yet (planning Feb 2015), but this site has been a wonderful source of information!! From other pics and stories I've seen on here, you should have a really great result. Get familiar with the site and you can actually sort by age, weight, height etc to see other stories that are similar to your body size/shape. This place is FULL of info. And if you can't find it, you can "Ask A Doctor" and get several answers directly from the doctors :)

Thanks for the welcome! This site really is a Godsend. I love being able to specialize what I search for! I haven't tried the "ask a doctor" option, but it's nice to know it's there should I need it.

Discussions with Hubby...

My DH and I have been really discussing this TT. I want it so BAD!! :)
There is just so much to figure out. It is a lot of money, and I left my job 2mo back to be a SAHM. That means no income on my side and no where to put my toddler during my recovery. If anyone has some suggestions??? I have no immediate family left and my MIL is a teacher. She can help over winter break and my hubby can take a week off but that's it… sigh.
I am about to schedule my official consultation with Dr. S -my first was in relation to fixing my lipo area and that is when we discussed a TT and what other options I may have. Hubby wants to join me on this consult to make sure we are on the same page. I will update again once (if) I have my official date set in stone.
Until then, I would love to know what all you lovely RS ladies did with your children during recovery. OH! and where you slept! No recliner here. I have to figure that out.
Thanks!

God will work it out for you , just continue to trust in him ... I'm planning to buy a recliner after I buy all my supplies , surgery and airfare but if I can't I'm going to buy some extra pillows including 2 body pillows and I know that will do a great job as well .. Maybe you can try that too ... Best wishes Hun .

I really think that for the first week -- you will need someone there with you to help you 24/7... The 2nd and 3rd day was the worse for me... Am 4 weeks po and am still sleeping on my recliner...the first day I tried sleeping in my bed-I was in too much pain n miserable... I sent my bf out the 2nd day to borrow a recliner from a friend.... A recliner is a must have!

I hope your recovery is going well! I ordered that recliner! We have it for a month. Hopefully after that I will be ready to sleep in my bed again.
