Officially Sleeved!!

I have been sleeved for one week now and I've already lost 15 pounds! My surgeon told me I would lose 15-20 in the first 2 weeks and I think I'm going to surpass that. I still have pain if I take too big of a drink or hiccup(that is the WORST), and some nausea occaisionally. Hopefully it won't last much longer. I am still on a liquid diet and I have to admit that I do miss food, but I'm not really craving anything. I crave Whataburger a little when I see a commercial but it always goes away. If you've ever had Whataburger then you'll understand why I want it ;). I'll be able to start on soft solids in a few days and I'm so excited! I don't think I've ever been this excited to eat scrambled eggs. I'm also a little nervous about starting soft solids. Hopefully it won't cause any more pain than I'm having now. My post-op appointment with surgeon is in a little over a week and I'm excited for him to see my progress! I'm going to a wedding in Chicago in mid-May and my goal is to lose 30 pounds by the time I leave. I think I'll be able to do it! I'm still working on getting enough protein down each day. I can feel when I haven't had enough because I get so tired after doing something that used to be easy. I think it'll be easier to get my protein in once I can eat solid food instead of having to depend on protein shakes.

Surgery is scheduled and I'm getting a little more nervous/excited

I had my pre-op appointment yesterday! We went over the post-op diet guidelines and I had some blood work done, which is never fun ;). My official pre-op weight is 261, a little higher than I thought it was going to be but I won't weigh that much for long! And of course I forgot to call my bank and have them raise my daily spending limit so I could pay a chunk of my surgery cost. But I got it worked out and called my Doctor's office to pay over the phone so I wouldn't have to drive all the way back. After my pre-op I went to the hospital where I'll be having my surgery to get a chest x-ray and an EKG. That took no time at all, but I decided the people at work didn't need to know that so I wouldn't have to go in afterwards lol! My surgery is scheduled for exactly one week from today, April 14th. It's getting so close and it seems so much more real now. Before, I knew it was happening but it didn't seem so close. Now it's just right around the corner and I can't believe how fast this process has been! I had my first consultation with the surgeon just a little over a week ago! I guess one of the good things about insurance not covering the procedure is that I can schedule things whenever I want and don't have to go through a bunch of hoops like seeing a psychologist and going on a 3 month supervised diet. Cross your fingers for me!

EGD and RMR Test

My EGD and RMR test are scheduled for Friday! Thank goodness the process leading up to surgery is not taking a long time for me. If I had to wait too long I might start think it'll be harder than it will be! Now that things are actually happening my nerves are really starting to kick in, but it'll be over soon and all of the worrying will be worth it!
