Hey I don't know if you've looked into carboxy or dry tattooing but both of those could also help a lot. I hope you find a solution good luck.

Do not try these weird procedures others are recommending . Also, avoid lasers. You need a very skilled plastic surgeon that has done a lot of scar revision . Do a lot of research. Many of the posts the people's scars look way worse, the good outcomes are far more rare. One guy had a small scar and now has a huge one, he has a lot of photos up, his dr lied to him. I'm in NYC and still looking. I have 8 large scars on my hip after 2 surgeries. I'm going to take my time until I find the right person . Take your time . You have more pigment in your skin, I do too, I'm olive toned, and it can go really wrong for us. Take your time. Keep me posted and I'm glad to help you do some research when you're down to your final choices of Drs. Stop the lemon juice and just use regular facial moisturizer , the scar is older now and no home remedies or special creams will work. Start saving for a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in scar revision . Hang in there.

So many of these procedures go wrong . It's a huge risk . Sometimes it's better to accept the scar.

Is dry tattooing the same as microneedling? Can this make a scar worse?

Yes i wish i did. I went from a thin( slightly thicker than a credit car) slightly pink scar to a raised z patter one..Subsequent lasers have only had minimal improvement for me. they suggested another scar rev to which i declined..just to worry that it will make it worse.

Have you heard of the dermapen? I had a similar but smaller scar on my nose and had dermapen done and saw results. I have tried many different things and I can say that I had my best experience with dermapen. You will need about three treatments. After the third treatment I saw the best results. The other nice thing is that you will only have about a day of downtime, if that. You should definitely look into it.

Understand that any scar revision may possibly make it look worse. I had such a scar and had it revised. After many followups the surgeon in his own way said it didnt come out to well. Part of the scar did have results the other half has come out way worse. It was explained that was due to two reasons. One of that has to do with skin tone and certain skin types dont respond well to some procedures. I have tried various lasers with very minimal improvement to the original result. Now they are trying to see if they can redness out using a different type of laser and just leaving it alone. I was offered another revision but im afraid of the outcome. So please ask, ask questions.
