21 Year Old with Breathing Problems

I had an accident 2 years ago and broke my nose. My doctors during the accident warned me I may have future breathing problems and may want to look into a nose job. This was actually a blessing in disguise because I have always hated my nose. Now I did a lot of research. Make sure if your surgeon has 5 stars that he has A LOT of experience in rhinoplasty, not just plastic surgery in general. Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult surgeries to perform so do not settle! My surgeon has written books, spoke on Oprah, and even does botched rhinoplasty surgeries often. He was great. If you're in Dallas see Dr Rohrich. Anyways I was very nervous going in but coming out I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever. The worst part was breathing out of my mouth for a week. I had very little bruising because I stayed elevated and iced A LOT. I bled the first 3 days but again no pain. I made sure not to walk around besides going to the bathroom for the first week. I wasn't incapable of moving, I just wanted to be safe. I knew going in my nose would be swollen for a few months but I already think the profile looks great! Don't let the first look depress you, it only gets better! At first it looks like a blown up balloon with no features but they will start to show after a few weeks.

Nice results. Do you have any before/front photos? I consulted with him but I want to get a few other opinions. What did he do to your nose?

I'll try and add some! It looks a little funky because I got the cast off today and my nose is still very swollen as well as my upper lip. It can take a full year for all the details to show. But like I said I already love it. So basically he shaved down my hump and my corrected my breathing problems. He also shortened it as well because I hate the profile and smoothed out the tip. He uses 3D imaging to show you how he plans for it to look after so you can get an idea and make sure you are on the same page.

2 weeks after surgery

aruley
So I thought I would update, today is 2 weeks after my surgery. I've gone back to normal life but my nose is still pretty swollen. I'm not completely ready to see my friends just yet but I am happy with the results. Each day the swelling goes down a little bit more so that makes me happy.

So when I first got my cast of it really hurt to laugh. My upper lip was very swollen so every time I laughed my septum felt like it was being stretched. Luckily the pain stopped after about 10 days post op. My smile is still kind of awkward but they say that it usually takes 6-8 weeks for it to return to normal.

I went back to work and it actually hasn't been so bad. I'm a full time nanny so it's pretty slow paced. My skin has had an extremely bad break out, probably the worst I've ever had. It's most likely from the stress of surgery, and not maintaining my skin care routine the first week. That's all I can think of I'll leave some pictures of the swelling.
