1 month out and doing great!
I’m finally feeling like myself again. I’m still wearing the compression garment and getting regular massages. The scar tissue is flattening out and now it’s mostly just hard and firm. I can do almost totally normal activity (9 out of 10). The swelling is still poofy at guy but ok ost if the day. The pics show me in the morning. I’m retaining fluid around my belly button which is common, and on my left hip because it’s the side I sleep on. This will all even out with time. I couldn’t be happier though!
Ab Board etc.
Happy 3-weeks-post to me!!! I have continued light exercise and regular massage for the past week and am feeling great! I'd say I'm at around 75% of my normal energy and strength. I have almost no pain - just occasional discomfort during core work or during massage.
I did buy an ab board (see pic) to help with flattening the thick hard ridges. They have gone down some but I want to be aggressive with massage and my posture. The ab board is very comfortable, feels like a warm hug, and I see a significant smoothing after just 2 days (keeps me sitting up straight too!). I don't love that it adds about a half-inch to my waistline all across the front and sides, but I'm wearing loose shirts to hide it.
I did buy one sexy dress for a party this weekend. I'm still somewhat swollen, but I look SO MUCH BETTER! So while I still don't feel my cutest yet, I'm definitely feeling a little better each day.

Back to the Gym!
I went back to the gym last night for the first time. I'm used to intense workouts (zumba, boxing, lifting) so I went at about 50% of what I could do pre-surgery. I did a Zumba-Strong class which is toning and cardio. I was able to do everything but the core work, so when they'd plank or crunch, I'd do squats or stretching. I took it easy but stayed sweaty. It felt great to move!
My skin feels a lot tighter today and I'm stiffer than I've been, but some aleve and some self massage have helped. Overall I'm feeling a lot more like myself!
