1 Week & Counting
It has been 1 week since my first PicoSure tx. The swelling went down and it is now just kind of sore and itchy. The little blisters I had also dissipated and now the whole tattoo is just a little scabby - more in some areas than others. As I suspected, the swelling was making the tattoo look like it was more faded than it actually was. But no sweat.....I have faith in the PicoSure ;-)

I decided to join this site to be able to cope with the emotional stress of tattoo removal and to encourage others who are going through the same. My tattoo is about 15 years old. I originally got my fiancé's name on my arm but as the story goes, we split up (he was no good!) and a year later I got it covered up. I've been living with this "thing" on my arm for many years and always having to cater to its existence; buying one-sleeve shirts, no short sleeve work shirts, no pretty, girly sundresses. I never realized how much I hated it until I seriously started thinking about getting it removed. I also never realized how many things in my life it affected. Whenever I went out I had to decide whether I wanted to expose it or not, or does my sexy outfit now look slutty because of this "thing" on my arm. I've suppressed many ill feelings about it over the years. My father did not even know about it or see it until I was 32 years old. Yes, I even grilled in the summer heat with a 3/4 sleeve shirt on. Anyways I just moved to Texas from New Jersey and am working getting a teaching certification. I don't want to live with this thing all of my life. The sooner it comes off the better!.....Fast forward to today. Today was my first treatment!!!!! I was so nervous that my mouth was dry and I was shivering a little bit. No worries though, it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Feels like a bunch of needles. The ice pack beforehand and cool air hose the doctor provided did help a lot. I can already see some fading and it's only been a couple of hours. I posted a before and after and will post pics each week.
