Taking the Arnica pills helps with the bruising. My doctor suggested the Genie bra, and so that's what I've been using. I'm know 6 weeks post-op.As far as the size of your breast making you more or less attractive is BS! You being comfortable with their size is what's attractive. I had my good friend tell me that I would get the same results if I lost weight. You look great , follow doctors orders.

How is your recovery going? Has the pain and burning stopped? Are you getting used to the size? I hope all is well. My day is coming up on Friday - can't wait to be on the other side.

Hi! My recovery is going really well! I am on Aleve and Ultracet and it is helping a lot. She was very understanding when I told her about the pain. I am so very happy with the results! It is really wonderful! My clothes fit so much better. I went bra shopping and right now I'm a 34C or 36B but my Walmart Genie Bras are the most comfortable. I am excited for you! Let me know how it goes!

Karebear it's not bad at all, I'm surprised there is not much pain so far. Even with the nipple issue it's tolerable and I'm not overly worried. 2 more days hooray!!

2 weeks post op/ stitches out

Hummingbirdz
Yay! The aereola stitches are out and glue underneath my boobs is off. Dr says everything looks great and she is really happy with everything so far. Discussed pain control and she said I can take Aleve and Ultracet. Hopefully I will be more comfortable. Also I can start wearing other bras! No underwire and no pressure on incisions. I will post pictures soon. Can't seem to upload them from my phone.

Great news!!! You must feel like a new person and extremely overjoyed. Glad you got a rec for the pain control. Still take time to rest and put your feet up when you can. I found some T-Shirt bras made by Fruit of the Loom that still clasp in front and some that pull over my head - they are very comfortable and no pressure on the incision areas. Exciting to wear comfy bras. I Will wait for all swelling to go down and incisions to heal before going for the real Bras. Congrats on the good report from your Dr.

Congrats on getting the stitches out! I hope the aleve and Ultracet give you some relief. Yay for new bras! Hopefully that will make you more comfortable too

Hi Hummingbirds! Thank you so much for your post. It helped me a lot. I recently had a breast reduction with Dr. Stiles (today marks 34 days post-op). Still healing and feeling better as days go by. I see you posted 10 years ago and not sure if you'll get this message, just wanted to ask you 1) are happy with the end result and 2) how long more/less it took you to fully heal?

Haven't had much to update although I still read this site about once a day for encouragement. Even though I knew recovery would be long I don't think I could have prepared myself for all of the discomfort. I'm sooooooo ready to be pain free and stitch free and bruise free. Above all else, I am still not sure if I am happy with the results. They are so small. Now instead of trying to hide my big boobs I am trying to hide my big stomach. My husband says I need to be nicer to myself and I do. This is just really hard. Short term I have traded neck pain and migraines for constant burning and pain. If anyone who is further along than me can give me some encouragement I would really appreciate it.

Like you I go to this site daily for encouragement. Good luck on Monday and I will be following your progress - I am 5', 32G, dense breast tissue, shoulder grooves and live a healthy lifestyle. Tomorrow I go to my last Pilates class, Sunday spa day, Monday go for my markings and Surgery is on Tues (Plano, TX - Dr. Yaker). I feel like I have been nesting getting ready for surgery this next week. Best of Luck ! I am a day a day behind you!!

Oh good luck to you too!! It is so nice to know others are going through the same thing! Hoping for the best for both of us:-)

Thinking about you today during your surgery. Hope all goes well!

How are you feeling? Dr appt at 9 then will try to get out for afternoon movie to alleviate cabin fever. Will take pain meds in case they decide to take out drains. I still haven't seen under bra yet so might heed meds just to see that. Are you still wearing compression stockings? Hopefully those come off soon. Isn't it hard to believe the difference one week makes!!!
September 19, 2014
Hi Debrabb, I'm feeling good! They took my stockings off at the hospital before discharge. I'm on Day 4 at home and I've been sleeping well and resting during the day. I get up and walk around, do a few things, then sit back down and rest. Pinterest is my new best friend:) I think next week will be hard when hubby goes back to work and the kids are home after school. I'm trying not to tell everybody but it's hard when you need help with getting them to practices and stuff. I am VERY HAPPY I had this done though and I know it will all be worth it soon!

My heart goes out to you re: taking care of the kids while you are recovering. I waited until my younger son moved out - he moved out Monday and I did surgery following week. My other son lives away and he dropped by with four other guys for dinner last night. I had to scamper to find something to cover my garments and drains. Having help is the key to recovery and the little things do tire you out. Baby steps My husband has been a life saver. . Got Drains out today, I took meds before I went in but the nurse did a nice job of distracting me, Appt 3:30 on Monday 3:30 for some stitches to come out. Stockings come off on Sunday. Went to Eatzis and Cinemark after Dr. appt so that was my first official outing - not too strenuous but good to get out. I came home and washed all undergarments and put on a shirt with no bra - haven't looked at the full frontal view but with a shirt on I was so happy with what I saw. My husband was smiling too. Can not believe it - no drooping - Perky boobs. I took a picture but will wait to take a look. Rest while you can - when is your next dr. appt? Perky boobs - who would have ever thought!!! Had no idea that the results would be visible so soon after the surgery.

I go back on Monday to get my drains out. Sounds like you are doing awesome! I can't wait to feel good enough to try on clothes. Fall fashion here I come:)
September 15, 2014
Good luck tomorrow !!! I know you probably can't believe it is already here. Look forward to hear your progress. Good to be doing it while the weather is still nice !! Hope you get some sleep!
September 16, 2014
Congratulations! Glad it went well. I am scheduled with Dr. Stiles on October 10th. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience. I'm getting pretty nervous. Again, congratulations and happy healing!
September 16, 2014
Glad all went will and you were able to be up and writing! I leave in a half hour ! A lb from each side is a good amount - let your healing begin.

Pix are fantastic I haven't been able to take a look yet. You must be ecstatic. Congrats on your results and this is still the first week.
September 18, 2014
Thank you! I wasn't able to take a look completely until today. It's so hard to take it easy when you are feeling better. Get some rest!
