I am just a week after my explant. I dont understand why so many ps's told me i would look deformed and scared me into keeping my implants for years and years. i do not look deformed. i look like a perfectly normal woman with small breasts. I love being me and I will never need another procedure to increase the size of my breasts. for me, this was the right decision. my advice to people is to find the right doctor who has experience with explant - i do believe there is a skill there to repairing from within and lifts may certainly be needed to restore a smaller breast. my implants being 225 CC did not require a lift. second of all, you need to be emotionally ready. it took me a few days to adjust. i am a mere week out and i am very happy with my decision. i did not like breast implants from the moment i got them. i am elated to be the real me and at this point, i am ready to get back to my life and no longer have worries about breast implants or i will certainly never worry about whether or not my breasts are large enough. they are just fine! good luck to everyone in their decisions!

I am day one after and will try to figure out how to post pics on my new Mac. I have to say the procedure was smooth sailing. Melmed and his team were smooth sailing. I have had very little pain. I am completely bound in my compression bandage, so truly and literally, flat as a pancake. And it feels amazing! I would be okay with this look over the implants quite honestly. I kept them, and was surprised at how heavy they actually felt. To think those bags of silicone have just been sitting on my chest wall is kind of odd, in retrospect. I do absolutely feel a lightness to my breathing. I noticed it when I was laying flat to go to sleep- its like I could breathe easier. I didn't think with the implants that I couldn't breathe normally, but I do definitely feel a difference without them. It's kind of amazing. I do have two drain tubes which is not fun and makes me want to hide, but hopefully they come out today. But so far, it's been a walk in the park. I have no depression, no anxiety, just a happiness that the implants are out and I never, ever have to have another elective breast surgery!!! Somewhat curious what they look like - an A, AA or AAA - don't really know the difference in sizes anyway, but I am what I am, and that is going to be just fine with me! I no longer have breast implants. I am overjoyed!!!

Today I have had my first consultation, then have my second consultation with Melmed this afternoon. I am a little "deflated" (haha) after the first consulation. After my exam where he determined that they were still soft, seemingly normal, etc., I was asked why i wanted to remove them, and told that silicone breast implants are safe and new technology silicone breast implants are very safe, and of course effective. He told me he needs to review my mammogram to determine how much breast tissue i have to be able to reasonably anticipate whether i will need a lift, and then i might know more about my decision. i did reiterate that i want them removed and have made the decision, but felt a little bit like we needed to stay in this state of "indecision" - i dont know why. there was absolutely no positivity about this - but that may have been his extremely passive, business-like demeanor. and wouldnt you know when the dr left, the cute nurse told me she has silicone breast implants but has had no problems with a big smile. i was like, get me out of here. so, onto the next consultation!
