After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease...

WORTH IT
After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and researching the causes, I concluded that my 12year old saline implants were making me ill. I am very healthy, eating an organic vegetarian/vegan diet. I exercise, am 5'8" and 135 lbs. I can only conclude that the implants were impacting my health. I read reviews of several doctors on real self and came across Dr Melmed. I scheduled a consult, did not seek a second opinion. I scheduled the procedure after my consult. My husband and I felt so comfortable with Dr Melmed we didn't feel the need to see anyone else. I really like the fact that he doesn't put breasts in, he just takes them out. If a doctor knows that they make women sick, why would they implant them. There is a highly rated doctor out of Atlanta that talks about implants making you sick, yet she continues to implant patients. So I was seeking a doctor more aligned with the values of "doing no harm" . Dr Melmed also has experience working, shaping and placing the nipples where they belong. This is highly technical and many top cosmetic surgeons either are too lazy to deal with nipples or just don't have the technical expertise. My sister had her implants removed last month from her doctor in Australia. The breast are sunken in and do not look nice at all. I will post my before and after photos below. The after is from 24 hours after surgery. I am amazed that I do not have a single bruise. I highly recommend Dr Melmed.

Hi there - Congrats on your surgery! I like what you said about finding a doctor in line with your values. That's an important point I will consider when I schedule my surgery. You mention how Dr. Melmed shapes and places the nipples but I don't see any vertical scar on you from a lift. What exactly do you mean? Please keep posting pics so we can see your progress! Wishing you lots of joy!

I forget the exact name of the procedure he uses to properly place the nipple but that was my biggest concern. I will definitely add some more after photos. I am very happy with how they look day one. Thank you for the support. Looking forward to my life with a weight that has been lifted!

Please keep us informed. I just emailed Dr Melmed because I have had 2 revisions and still look bad.
He was kinda terse in his email, which surprised me, because I read a lot of great reviews about him. Did you feel like he really cared about your outcome? I'm so worried about having pancake boob if I have them removed. Did he talk about that at all?

Dr Melmed is light hearted with a sense of humor. He also is very upfront or blunt about things. He isn't going to give you a load of garbage. He actually takes time with patients and showed me an album of before and after. His practice is very old school and not technologically advanced( no fancy website) With that said, he is good at what he does. Every woman has a different amount of tissue that he has to work with so I am sure results will vary. From the photos he showed me, my breasts came out in line with what I was hoping for. I must say my husband was very happy with the results as well. I have never corresponded with him via email but I bet if you got him on the phone or met him in person, you would really get all your questions answered. He takes his time and I never felt like just another number. I hope this helps. I am happy to answer any specific questions if I can because I am over the moon with my results

I hope your symptoms improve and you feel better without implants. The truth is that cosmetic surgery and specially breast implants are a business and they don't inform us enough of all long-term risks, it is very sad.
Happy healing

So it’s been a couple years and I am still loving the work Dr Melmed did. I feel great and I love my natural breasts. Some people asked for after pictures so I am not the best at selfies but I took a couple I wanted to share. They aren’t perfectly even in sizing, they never were before implants. They are as if I never had implants to begin with. My health is significantly better. I also did a variety of cleanses and liver support along with surgert
