I have four kids, and I breastfed them all. In 2003 I decided to get saline implants under the muscle. Wow! Was that a painful process. I went from a 34B to a 34DD. It was devastating. The discomfort of foreign objects in my chest was something I never got over. I thought (obsessed) about my boobs everyday! For 12 years I agonized over the decision I had made, it just wasn't right. Three years in I began to have health issues crop up. My period stopped. I began to lose my hair. I had migraines twice a month, minimum. I developed burning pain in my joints. That was just the worst! It made me feel 80 years old. I had terrible hot flashes. Blurred vision. Liver spots on my face. I was hospitalized in 2008 with liver failure and almost died. I had horribly slow wound healing. I suffered SERIOUS depression. My liver was inflamed, so I looked almost pregnant with a swollen upper abdomen. I retained water. I developed GERD. The indigestion issues were awful with every meal I ate no matter what it was, except "greens only" salad. I was miserable!! But I never made the connection... Then, in June of 2014, I was in my bed with yet another heat-induced migraine. It had me bedridden for two days, when suddenly I thought... Could these migraines be caused by my implants? For 3 years in a row I had been suffering with heat-induced migraines. If I overheated doing house work I would get a migraine! I even got migraines with a hot shower. I googled "could my implants cause heat-induced migraines?" and there it was! Dr Ed Melmed discussing the many health issues that women with implants are reporting from all over.

Every symptom I had, he named! Including heat sensitivity and migraines... I was astounded! They needed to come out! And, to my utter joy, this absolute angel from The Lord (Dr Melmed) was based in Dallas, TX. Less than two hours away! I immediately made a consult appointment. The staff was awesome!! I fell in love with them!! Janet is the coolest chic ever!! And, Linda is a supreme Goddess!! I could never say enough about Dr Melmed. He has the kindest personality, and puts you at ease like no doctor ever!! From the first meeting, he makes you feel like an old and very dear friend. His confidence in what he's doing and how he's doing it is so reassuring. It certainly helps that he has well over 20 years worth of photos to prove his excellence in restoring natural breasts. I truly love him!! He will always be God's instrument for setting me free!! I was two days into recovery after my explant, when all of my symptoms began to fade away. Every single one!!! I cry every time I think about how this all came together for me, and now I'm free of those awful things that stole years from my life. My husband was and is such a support! He had years stolen from him, as well... So, he is thrilled with how good I feel!! And loves my natural breasts!! THANK YOU, DR MELMED!!! You are an amazingly gifted surgeon- with a sexy French accent and the kindest heart- who has chosen to restore the health of any women who will, and return them to a more beautiful version of their former glory!!
I love you always!! Ginger??

If you read this and find any likeness in my story to what you're going through, please do not even hesitate to call Dr Melmed! You won't have even a moment's regret! Explanation is the best decision!! You WILL get your life back! I promise!! I will post pics soon... I'm three weeks post-surgery today! God Bless!!

How long before you were on your feet? Were you diagnosed with any autoimmune diseases?

My husband took care of everything for the first week! I couldn't raise my arms above my shoulders for 3 weeks, (envision T-Rex) and couldn't drive for a week, although I avoided driving for two weeks just to be safe. No auto diseases. But my internist said I would be moments away from it because of the severe decline in my health there at the end... The heat sensitivity and joint pain. So glad I got them out! I still can't believe how the symptoms have gone... The last thing I struggled with that I'm just now seeing a change in is my foggy brain. I'm not having trouble finding my words like I was even four days ago. Getting better and better!

I FINALLY saw a doctor state that silicon implants and ankylosing spondylitis are related with all the symptoms!!! This was an answer to my prayers. I am getting done, although I believe I'm going to use dr. Feng who is also highly recommended for a post plant. My entire family and many friends live there and I'll have the support I need. Gingerroak, how is your brainfog coming along?

It's coming along great! I'm noticing big changes all the time... One really big one for me was that I had suffered under absolutely shot adrenals! I couldn't tolerate loud noises, abrupt sounds, anything that challenged the fight or flight response. The other day my kids made plans to go see The Avengers, and of course they didn't invite me because they knew better...they'd learned over the years that those kinds of movies aren't possible for me. We don't even watch TV at home like that. But as they got ready to go I said, "Wait a minute, I want to go!" They were as stunned as I was that that came out of my mouth. There was NO anxiety at the thought! And I actually enjoyed the VERY LOUD movie, and didn't have to plug my ears or look away once!! It blows my mind that these kinds of things are resolving themselves... But then again, God designed the body to heal itself if we will just remove what blocks that process. What a creator!! I'm so grateful for second chances like this surgery; to make right a serious wrong!

I'm feeling more hopeful with your comments. So, it's the adrenal glands that make you want to jump out of your skin?? That's what I deal with and NEVER knew why!!! When my husband eats nut's or something crunchy, I leave the room. Thought of going to a movie theater are out of the question. So happy for you. God is so good :)

Thank you so much!!! ;) I'm so glad to hear you've found a good doctor, and you'll have family to support you!! You will be amazed at how good you feel and how quickly. Do everything you're told post surgery, and let your people take care of you. Rest, eat, and rest some more! Give your body time to heal. It took time to get you to the point you are with your health, and it could take time to bring you back. (These are things I told myself, although I've been so pleasantly surprised) Don't judge your results either, at all!! Wear your sports bra! Shower, then put that bra right back on. And finally, thank God for whatever your result is because you are free! (Again, all things I tell myself) Praying for you!! Take care! ;)

I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better! Did you have an internal lift also? Did you stay at a hotel in Dallas for a couple days before going home?

Thank you! I did get an internal lift! I stayed over one night, so I could get my drains out the day after surgery. Then we went home! I had no bruising... It's been an amazing recovery!

I accidentally posted my reply to you on another's post. Oops! I'm new at this. But, I said that you need to do it. You won't regret it! when I got implants I didn't think I was harming myself, but when I realized I definitely was, and my health and happiness were failing, I couldn't get them out fast enough. When you know better, you do better!i also can't speak highly enough of Dr Melmed! He's pure greatness!!
