60 Year Old, Capsular Contraction from Previous Breast Reconstruction Surgery 2008/9

I've had breast cancer twice. First surgery/reconstruction etc. 2008 - first plastic surgeon was not easy to work with. I had implants and I kept telling him I was constantly in pain and he dismissed my complaint - his only option for me was to remove them - which was sad since I was going through so much during my cancer journey. Since then, my breasts had become hard & uncomfortable and I thought I had to live with it. Apparently not. I had developed Capsular Contraction from scar tissue and was so uncomfortable especially at night. My daughter chose Dr Armijo for her reconstruction (we have the BRCA2 gene). We explained that since she was doing the reconstruction with implants she did not want to end up like me - with hard, painful breasts. Dr Armijo explained that I did not have to live with this and I did have options. This was the best news and gave me so much hope. I was able to see Dr. Armijo in action as my daughter went through her reconstruction with good results. I felt very comfortable with Dr Armijo and his staff. I made an appointment and we decided on the DIEP FLAP/TRAM FLAP procedure. I was so pleased with the results and did not even have to finish off all pain tablets post-operatively. It helps so much to have a plastic surgeon who not only is gentle and kind and respects his patients - but also does great work. Wonderful to be in good hands. My breasts look and feel great. I am very pleased with his work and thankful I had such a good doctor this time around.
