Having had 3 rhinoplasty in a span of fourteen years and still being left with clear grounds to seek revision, I finally happened to be in good hands with Dr. Rod J. Rohrich.
My previous cosmetic surgeon, who I also give credit to, is the one who recommended Dr. Rod to me. And, that is the strongest reference one could have; one good cosmetic surgeon encouraging me to go for the best hands since my case was complicated.
During my consultation with Dr. Rohrich, he had mentioned, ‘’I wouldn’t attempt to do it if I wasn’t able to”. That gave me courage to go for a fourth attempt. Dr. Rod and his staff excel in all other aspects as well: patient care, helpful assistance and prompt responsiveness to queries; pre op and post op. Having said that, and failing thrice already, only one thing mattered in the end- success of the surgery and its result. And yes, we finally achieved it!
Mine was a post trauma case and there were flaws evident which needed correction; and the past surgeries added to the work. So, we listed seven goals to achieve. Dr. Rod addressed all of them separately and achieved the desired result. He was very happy with his work and repeatedly mentioned that it was a very challenging case but we have managed to do better than what he had anticipated. I am now two months post op and the results are great. One can put him next to Michelangelo -as I like to call him. He deserves it.
During my initial correspondence with Dr. Rod, he had clearly stated that this had to be my last surgery as I have had enough scarring in the past. I thank God for the right guidance as I was very skeptical to attempt one more time.
Dr. Rod not only corrected post trauma flaws but also improved my nose aesthetically which I had no hopes to achieve. He aimed much higher and reshaped the nose to match my face and features. He also improved my breathing by correcting the nasal septum which was damaged at 9.5 out of 10.
My sense of smell which, I had feared would be lost is now returning. I had been told it can take up to 6 months till I could smell again. It is a sigh of relief that my nose is healing well.
I hope that my experience gives you the optimism that even with three non-satisfactory attempts and being refused by multiple cosmetic surgeons, one can still be optimistic and achieve positive results; provided, we reach a true revision rhinoplasty expert.

I am glad you had a positive outcome. Did you interview with other surgeons here in Dallas? I need a revision and I believe my nose will be complicated since it is botched right now. Dr. Rohrich is part of my top 3 choices so I like reading good reviews like this. Can you post some pics?

Hello there, my reply to you is similar to one I gave above. Thank you for appreciating my review. No, I did not interview any other doctor in Dallas. My family suggested I seek second opinion from other renowned cosmetic surgeons. So I contacted one in New York, met with another doctor from UK who visits Karachi once a month and third in California who refused to take up my case as they were uncertain to give positive results. In a way, I am glad to be refused elsewhere as it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I faced least confusion in selecting a doctor this time. My previous surgeon's recommendation was enough to put my trust in Dr. Rohrich- who had agreed to help. Plus, his recommendation proved to be true as other doctors backed away.

Congrats on the successful surgery! Would you mind posting pics of your before and after? (you can blur out eyes). That would really help!

Thanks Chloe. I understand visuals make great difference in understanding results. But I am uncomfortable sharing my pics online - after going through so much and for so long. However, if I can be of any help otherwise, please inbox your queries. I shall be glad to help you

There is no better recommendation than having another surgeon recommend Dr. Rohrich. This is not the first time I have heard this about Dr. Rohrich being sent patients from other surgeons. Dr. Rohrich and his staff are awesome!
