I have always been unhappy with my chest. Although I love the looks of small breasts, I felt mine were too non-existent and weren't proportional to my body type. I knew I didn't want implants because I feel they look too unnatrual and I don't want something foreign in my body. I was always curious about the future possibility that fat could be moved into the breast, and today it is possible. I decided I wanted to go for it so I can feel sexier and more confident going into my 30s, but of course I was very scared and anxious because I've never done anything like this before. I researched a ton, and decided to go with Dr. Hughes in Culver City because he has great reviews and is reasonably priced compared to the other doctors in the area. When I went for my consulation he told me he could harvest all the fat he needed from my flanks (aka lovehandles) and that I could expect from 1/2 cup to full cup since 50% of the fat can die off. I wish I had asked him now what technique specifically he uses to move the fat and inject the fat, but I didn't. He said he would inject it evenly around the area and follow the natural shape of the breast. He didn't reccommend the use of Brava. I set my appt for only two weeks out since I wanted to get it over with. I had my surgery yesterday, and feel that it went well. I definitely underestimated the pain I would be in afterwards, and the nausea. I threw up many times and couldn't even keep water down. However, today, the day after, the nausea has subsided and I'm able to eat and drink. I spent the whole first day and today in bed, and it's very difficult to get up or lay down, and I can only lay flat on my back. My breasts are very stiff right now. I think due to swelling, so I'm actually glad I can expect them to go down a bit. I just hope to retain most of the fat and fullness. Also, my waist looks narrower which is an added bonus and will enhance the shape of my chest. The bruising isn't too bad so far, but I do have some numbness in the lipo area.

Thanks for your review. I'm considering the same surgery with Dr. Hughes. Please post again as you recover / begin to see results. Best of luck!

You look really good. It's great to see such success with fat transfer to breasts. I hope it keeps ladies from using implants. Thanks for sharing and God Bless.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. I am currently considering a fat transfer following having my implants removed. Have you experienced any lumpiness with your fat transfer? Hope all continues well for you. x

Hi, I have experienced a little bit of lumpiness but that is completely normal at this point. The breasts have softened a lot and become less lumpy in two weeks, and the lipo area is starting to regain feeling though it's still hard to the touch and slightly uncomfortable. This is all part of the normal healing process though. i'm trying not to judge anything too much until a few months in :)

Sorry to hear the first 2 days were rough. How are you feeling now that you're almost 2 weeks post op? In hindsight, what are some things you wished you had know before your surgery? I'm putting together a forum for members like yourself who are considering breast fat transfer. Any input is appreciated. Congratulations and please update us soon!

I'm feeling much better and have most of my range of movement back. I underestimated the pain of the first couple of days, as it was extremely difficult to sit up or lay down without help. I also underestimated how annoying the compression garment is, but I think it will be worth it in the end. After two weeks the breast swelling has gone down and they are starting to look better and more natural. If I can retain most of the fat I think I will be really happy with the results when the healing process is over.

Oh yes, the compression garment...that's a good point. Crossing my fingers you retain as much fat as possible! Thanks for your response and please keep us posted!

what do you mean about the technique used to move and inject fat?
thanks.

3 1/2 week update

I had a three week follow up yesterday. Most of the swelling has gone down but there is still some. Although the breasts are still smaller than what I expected, I also knew going into it it wouldn't be a huge difference, and if I can retain most of the fat I have now it will have been worth it. The discomfort has mostly diminished from the donor site, although now there are hard lumps which I have to massage each day, and still a little numbess. One thing that worries me is I would really like to lose ten pounds and I don't want my boobs to shrink. I should have lost the weight before surgery but it's too late now. From what I've read the weight lost from the breast will be proportional to the rest of my body so maybe ten pounds won't make a big difference. I'm also going to start taking pueraria mirifica which is a supplement that can enlarge breasts. I'm happy to be healed enough to start working out a little again. I definitely feel flabbier than before surgery, except in my waist of course.

Would you consider going again ? It's interesting that this doctor doesn't use Brava.
April 1, 2015
I don't think so. I dind't want a huge change and I wouldn't want to deal with the lipo again. They are lot fuller than before so for me it's a big difference. He didn't even mention Brava, but I don't think I would have wanted to fuss with that thing for a month anyway. I'm just going to take natural supplements now to enhance what I've got.
