Review of the conditions of Dr. Hughes Office

I don't want to be mean and I so far am very impressed with Dr. Hughes' work and responsiveness and, at the end of the day, safety and results are what matter most, especially to the doctor himself. HOWEVER, Dr. Hughes needs some better digs, ASAP! The waiting room up front and office at first consult are ok, but the surgical areas and surgical waiting rooms in the back once you are doing a procedure are DOWNRIGHT SCARY!!!! I'm talking ripped up chairs, not enough patient beds, and an Operation Room that looks like it belongs in a make shift hospital in war-torn Afghanistan!! For his caliber of work, he needs a surgical area and surgical waiting room that reflects his high level of skill and care. The one he works in looks worse than the body shop where I get my car serviced. Seriously, it's scary bad. It may keep overhead costs low, but you can't have a talented and elite surgeon working in what looks like a gas station repair area!! I'm not hating- I'm saying he's better than his surrounds!

had fluid build up drained with syringe!!

Hello dolls! Well,I look exactly how I wanted to look so Dr. Hughes did an awesome job as far as I can tell. I had some fluid build up under the skin that I had drained with a medieval looking syringe (don't look when they do it!). I have to wear the foam boards again until thursday when they recheck the fluid situation again. Uggghh! back to LA ( I live two hours away in traffic) in two days!! Ladies, if you go to Dr. Hughes and he gives you a black abdomoninal binder with three straps, wear it LOW!! I know it keeps slipping up but keep bringing it back down or else you get fluid build up in you lower ab area.

3 days post op

Well it's been three days. My surgery was scheduled for 12pm but we did not start until 4pm. Needless to say the waiting had my husband and I really unnerved. But I made it through and Dr. Hughes was very accommodating in that he started me on heavy sedation then put me under general only for 15 minutes due to my health history. I don't remember anything under the heavy sedation, so it was all good! The size of my butt looks good but I'm concerned because from day 1 there are some flat areas on my butt that I don't see in other people's immediate post-op pictures so I'm really nervous that they may remain there even after the swelling goes down. Also, my hips have those little divets at the sides that I was hoping would be filled but they still seem to be there. In general, I'm not sure he put very much fat into my hips, but I have to ask him. The garment they provided is agitating me because the foam pads you have to place under it keep falling out! Seriously, someone needs to create garments that are better designed! I've ordered a faja online and will bring it to the doctor to ask him if i can wear it for my stage 2 garment when I go for my 1 week visit. I've emailed Dr. Hughes with several questions and he responded within a few hours to each one. As everyone has said, he is very responsive. I went into surgery at 130 lbs and the day after I weighed a whopping 145 lbs! I've flushed out five so far but still living in swell hell with 10 lbs of water! Even my face and knees are swollen!
