I can see clearly now the rain is gone!
WORTH IT$3,000
Day 5 Post op- To my surprise when I woke up this morning.. Everything was relatively clear. Most of the blurriness is gone and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure this will fluctuate, but it was nice having it today. I even went to the DMV and took the eye exam test and passed. I was pretty happy.

To start, I decided to write a review about my experience because that is what made me come to my surgery. I read tons of reviews about lasik and prk surgeries and decided I would make a consultation to see if I was a candidate. At my initial appointment I was told that everything looked perfect and it seemed that I was good to go for Lasik. We set an appointment date for Jan 9th for the morning. I was told that they had a mapping system at the actual location and they would better tell me if I was a candidate for lasik or not, but she seemed so optimistic I didn't worry about it.
The day of my surgery I arrived at the Crown Laser Center in Creve Couer, MO. I wasn't really nervous.. I was excited to see for the first time in a long time without corrective lenses. They did the mapping system and asked me a few questions.. then I was told to wait in a room. When she arrived she told me that I had a irregular cornea and they felt I wasn't a candidate for Lasik, but felt I was great for PRK. I was a little disappointed to hear this, but new what I wanted my ultimate outcome to be, even if that meant it might take a little longer to achieve.
I agreed to PRK and signed some paperwork and was told to take my xanax and be ready for my drops. Everything happened pretty quickly from there. I remember them putting in my drops and it only felt like minutes later I was being asked to go into the laser room. They put a few more drops in my eyes when I was in there and then asked me to lay down. Everything went quickly from there. I had ZERO pain and ZERO irritation. They told me I was done, it must have been 10 mins maybe and they asked me to sit up. When I sat up I could see... I mean REALLY see. I was crystal CLEAR and I got a small glance at what real true vision was. The surgeon then said that was the "honeymoon" stage and that would soon go away. He then checked my eyes out and said everything went smooth and great and enjoy my new eyes. They went over a few things with me and I went on my way.
When I walked out of the building everything was bright. Like really bright. Good thing they gave me those sunglasses. I was noticing on the drive home that my eyes started really watering and sort of a burning sensation, but not bad. I arrived home and was eager to rest. I took a pain killer and went to bed. When I awoke it was hard for me to open my eyes. So I ate a little something and went to bed. I slept the rest of that day.
Day 1 Post op- Awoke with a lot of light sensitivity... I could see though. Not as crystal clear as yesterday, but it was still clear. I had my post op appointment and the doctor said I was seeing 20/30.. I was pretty impressed. When I arrived home I was exhausted so I slept most of this day as well due to pain killers.
Day 2 Post op- A lot of light sensitivity but I was tired of sleeping so we went out to my MIL farm.. Not sure if this was a mistake or not. She has a lot of hay and stuff and I think this dried out my eyes a lot. When I arrived home I noticed my eyes were very dry and I was starting to see Halos and double of things. I went to bed hoping to sleep this off because I was to have work the following day.
Day 3 Post op- Woke up and realized I was seeing horribly.. everything was very very blurry and I was seeing extreme halos. I have to be at work by 6 am and I have a 20 min drive in. I knew that it wasn't safe for me to drive to work, though I attempted. Made it out to the main road and the lights were horrible. Turned around and called in. I decided to relax my eyes and call to see why everything was so horrible for me. The woman on the phone told me to start using my lubricating drops 6 times a day instead of 4 because those are symptoms of dry eyes with lasik and prk patients. So I did as she said and noticed things started to improve some.
Day 4 post op- I awoke and things seemed a little clearer.. Not great, but it was something. I had another post op appointment to get the contact bandages removed from my eyes. When I went outside things started to blur again and get really hazy. By time I arrived it was very blurry. When she asked me to read the lines I did struggle. She told me I was reading 20/40, she assured me this was normal and it would take some time to see the improvements I am looking for. She said my eyes were healing wonderfully, so she decided it was time to take the bandages out... everything immediately went horrid. I couldn't see a thing. It was horribly blurry.. She put some rewetting drops in my eyes and made another appointment for me in a week. Hopefully I will see some improvements, because as I write this I have the biggest font possible for me to even see what I am writing. Hopefully I have some good news for everyone later.
