My teeth were never perfect, but for most of my life, they never really bothered me enough to change them. That all started to change 3 years ago, when during a trip to Vegas I woke up from a long-long-long drinking night with my mouth feeling different. I had always had a top canine that was higher than the rest of my teeth but still completely inline. Well, now all of a sudden, the tooth had had been pushed out, and I was mortified. I immediately went to the dentist who told me all 4 wisdom teeth were impacted and should be removed. I had just quit my job to go back to school, but I still forked over money I didn't really have, with the thought of things at the very least staying how they are.
Boy, was I wrong, the last 3 years have been a constant let down as far as my teeth are concerned. As someone who has always dealt with anxiety and being incredibly self-conscious. Rubbing my tongue across my once smooth top teeth to feel a new jag or misalignment forming (seemingly by the week), just puts me into more of a shell.
So two months ago, I said enough is enough, this is something that's affecting my day to day, yet, is fixable so what am I waiting for?
----------------------------------
So after visiting 3 orthos I decided on an invisalign elite provider. All 3 had given me a similar time frame of 18-24 months, and no extractions, just IPR. Price was also similar ranging from 5000-5600. My reasons for my choice was 1) The elite I would assume has the most experience 2) itero scanner (I've read about trays not fitting on some reviews, and I hope this method eliminates this sort of delay. 3) Acceledent price. I was leaning towards it and they actually had the cheapest one, 900 compared to 1000, and 1100, so that made up some of the price, plus they added bleaching at the end, so that was extra savings as well.
So all in all it ended up being
5600 (invisalign/retainers/bleaching) +900 acceledent =$6500.
They also offered 30 months no interest with only $500 down, which made me feel really dumb about never looking into this sooner, as I could've afforded that at any point in the last 3 years.
-----
So now the wait begins. Keeping busy looking at all the awesome progress made from other users on here. But I'm extremely excited to see my personal clincheck, as well as finding out how many trays Im actually going to have, plus how quickly I can switch them out with acceledent.

1st set

So I received my first 2 sets of aligners 3 weeks ahead of time on 09/22/15. Appointment was simple enough. 15 minutes, which consisted of seeing my clincheck of 31 initial trays; slow steady progress throughout, no major jumps between any trays that I noticed on the video. Also got a goodie bag, with items to clean my teeth while on the go and sonic cleaner to clean my aligners.
Orthodontist told me to wear my first two sets for the full 2 weeks each and when I comeback in a month I'll receive my attachments, next set of trays and my acceledent, which was a bit of a disappointment as I was hoping to be on it from the get go. The major disappointment though, is the amount of attachments, Im going to get them and all 6 front top and bottom teeth, with a lower canine even having 2. So much for any hint of discretion.

As far as wearing the aligners themselves, outside the 1st day, when it felt like I was biting on a pen the whole day, and of course the pain biting after the first time I removed them, I cant say it feels like a bother at all. 22 hours a day has been easy. I forget they're in most of the time, no lisp, no pain, its kind of like, "is this really doing anything?"
Also went drinking friday and sat night, and kept them on. I dont prefer the dark stuff, so I figured it would be ok. Just rinsed them off with water at the end of the night.

Lots of attachments

Went in today to get attachments put on. Went in pretty stoked about Invisalign so far and left feeling like I might as well have been on traditional braces from a purely cosmetic view. All my front top and bottom teeth got buttons, so there's really no hiding my aligners now, as those little plastic boxes are front and center whenever I open my mouth.
After all was said and done, some positive stuff is I received my acceledent and trays 3-10, which I'll be changing out every 7 days. Also got a link to the gif files of my projected movement. Looks like around tray 15, which is around the mid of January, if all goes well, is when my teeth may start looking normalish once again ;so excited about that. Will upload new box mouth pics later.
