My research paid off!! Arm lift, Tummy Tuck and groin thigh lift

How I choose doctor - I gathered information locally and semi-locally. I went to one plastic surgeon in Northern Virginia and got quotes for the three procedures. He would not do all three at once. I then called 6 other doctors in Northern Virginia to get price quotes. Most would give them to me on the phone or email them to me. They REALLY wanted me to come in. I explained I can’t get off work for basic ball park quotes and travel 2 hours to go to your office. They seemed put out but it was either give me a ballpark quote or not. I then called my local plastic surgeon. He had the least experience and his price was ridiculously inflated. The guy with the least amount of OR time is going to charge twice the amount. The fees I gathered were for PS fees only. You then have to add an anesthesiologist, OR time, so much for first hour and so much for each hour after, facility fee and one night in hospital. None would do all three at one. So that meant I would have to pay the later 3 times. And a 6 week healing time and time off each work.
I am below middle class none was possible for me.
I then did google search after google search and scoured Real Self. I contacted doctors in 4 different countries, and some of their patients on facebook or on Real Self.
Costa Rica and Dr Rashi Rosenstock was who I picked. He was the best hands down.
Dr Rashi Rosenstock was the one who answered all my questions quickly and professionally. And who magically seemed to put me at ease I was able to find some patients of his on Real Self and one on Facebook and they all spoke positively of him. So it was Dr. Rashi Rosenstock at Rosenstock and Liberman Clinic in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Surgery Day - I flew in the day before and went from the airport to his office. Check up, blood work, paperwork and fees were paid. He had a very relaxing bedside manor. He is an artist at his profession. He does a lot of surgeries and he does it with perfection. He did all 3 of my procedures in one day in 6 hours. Dr. Cohen worked alongside of him. They are a fantastic team. I spent the night in their clinic with a private nurse in my room. Every time I coughed or moved she would ask if I was okay. Having the three surgeries all at once I was bandaged up like a marshmallow. The next day they cleaned and rebandaged me, fed me breakfast before sending me off to CheTica Recovery Ranch.

CheTica Recovery Ranch - I have to say this place was amazing. Lorena and Ruben have such a positive vision for taking care of people. Francis their nurse came in and cleaned my drains twice a day and helped me shower and dress until I was strong enough to do it on my own. Are you truly ever ready to put compression garments on by yourself? The struggle is real. Francis was a true angel of a nurse. She checked on me several times a day. Gave me all my shots and meds with excellent bedside manners. Doris their cook was amazing. I looked forward to EVERY meal. The scenery is breathtaking no matter where you turn. The cottages are designed meticulously. I wanted to spend a night in each one. I stayed there 17 days. Loved every minute of it. Even Alex and Anna who brought my meals and cleaned my room were delightful.

Recovery - Can’t say it was a walk in the park. But I do have a high threshold on pain and I am able to say yeah it’s gonna hurt but it for only so many days or it's only going to hurt just a few seconds when they pull that drain out. It was hard getting in and out of bed or up and down from a chair the first few days. Getting in and out of the car for check ups and getting up and down on the table examining tables was painful. But it wasn’t horrible and every time it hurt a wee bit less. The first two days when they change bandages asking me to lift my hips an inch was like jumping Olympic hurdles. But I did it and it was only a few days.

Three at once - I have no idea why so many doctors in the US would not do all three procedures at once. I had NO problem with doing them at once. I personally think...no I will not speak bad on them. I am 53 and found it NOT difficult. I would have taken me 3 years to have it all done in the states. And I would have had a recovery time for 6 weeks plus they add in all the other expense of facility fees and so on. I don’t think I could ever have afforded to do it here.

Would like to give a comparison shout out to Dr. Rashi. During my communication time with my questions and thoughts - Dr Rashi answered my emails within minutes to a couple hours. At the same time with my US doctors. I had a vein pressing on a nerve that needed to be removed, in the USA. It took me days and multiple phone calls just to get the scheduler to even answer or return my calls. It was a major ordeal. Doctor was fantastic. Scheduler not so much. I also cut my toe walking barefoot. It got infected. Called family doctor. Took 3 calls to get someone to answer phone. They couldn’t get me in for 5 days. I went to MedExpress. Why can’t our doctors answer our calls? All I needed was antibiotics for my toe.

Facts - I was in Costa Rica for 17 days. I saw a doctor 9 times. I had arm drains in 5 days and TT drains in 7 days. The Lymphatic massages are worth it. I think they really lessened my swelling and hurried my healing. My hands swelled for the first 3 days really bad but everything started lessening right after that. Magda at CheTica is amazing doing the lymphatic massages. My arms felt so much better after she worked on them. I had one hip that was swollen and she worked her magic on that. She is so well worth it. I traveled alone to Costa Rica. I was a little nervous about that but read enough to know that lots of people do it so I wasn’t too concern. Fear and nerves hit me for about an hour the night before but I was able to rein in my crazy thoughts and anxiety.

Final Thoughts - Dr Rashi is amazing. My scar lines are so straight and thin. He explained everything to me at my consultation and what to expect. Only one thing to say. The man is good! You are well taken care of in his Clinic and at CheTica.

Price is for Arm lift only. I also had tummy tuck and thigh lift.
