I knew that I wanted a facelift for the last few years and it would only be a matter of time and money. When the money became available, I knew that I wanted to go to Costa Rica because it would be so very much cheaper. Now, all I had to do was the find the right plastic surgeon. As I previously noted, my complaint was the lack of more up-to-date postings so it made my research work that much more difficult. But once I found the right physician (Lev), I was super confident in my decision and became extremely excited. People around me couldn't believe that I was going to do this in another country all by myself but I've traveled heavily and felt comfortable about that part and I'm a Spanish speaker so that would make it easier (even though nearly everyone everywhere spoke English once I got there). I never did have the time to go so I just MADE the time. Once that happened, I became "giddy". As the day got closer, especially the last few days, I realized that those around me got even more nervous and I was the one that had to camel them down! I kept telling them, I work so hard, this would be like a vacation. And that's how it turned out.....a vacation with benefits. I was escorted by the driver from the airport and recovery center to everywhere. Dr. Lev was over and beyond in both bedside manners and expertise (He's known as the "physician's physician" and the recovery site, which sees the work of all physicians, always referred to Lev as "the artist". His anesthesiologist (hysterically funny) had known Lev since childhood and they were two peas in a pod. I selected the hospital over a clinic because I felt that since I was saving so much money, I could afford the extra for the hospital. (I was the only one at the recovery center to have gone that route but it added to my comfort level.) I made lifelong friends at the recovery center and even as I'm now back, we keep in touch with our progress. And my family and I kept in touch several times a day with the provided international free calls and internet. Everyone loves the results and I'm thankful for the lack of problems. I actually miss being there.

My facelift was great. The recovery was great. My complaint is: why aren't there more up to date posts on this site? It was my biggest complaint before going (Sept 2012) and after coming back.
Since my profession is market research and there is such limited information available, why aren't more people posting their experiences? I do know from my career that negative experiences will always be posted before positive ones (if you had a problem, you want to let everyone know.....if you had a great experience, you go on with your life).
I also know that one person can get 5 different email addresses and post and its all the same person. Likewise for those that sell. But really, people. The more information everyone has, the better everyone will be and the less erroneous perceptions can grow.
