I have an approximate 10 year old tattoo on my shoulder that I recently decided I wanted to remove for various reasons. I like the concept/tattoo but it didn't end up looking how I imagined and since it is on my shoulder it moves a lot and always seemed crooked to me.
I researched places near me and it ended up that a girl from my gym works at a place a few miles away that had the PicoSure machine. After some research I realized this machine would probably be great since my tattoo is mostly green. I contacted her and she said she would love to help and said she could see me the next day.
I have a high pain tolerance but after reading some stories and watching some videos I was a little nervous. I arrived and the nurse applied some numbing cream while I finished filling out some paperwork. Then when Jenn came in to go over the procedure she had me use a cold roller over the tattoo. I'm not exactly sure what this was for, or I possibly didn't hear her when she said why since I was anxious to get started.
After donning some sweet shades she did a test spot to see how I would react and assess my pain threshold. The pain wasn't bad and I was able to have a conversation with her during the entire time which made time go by faster and helped me think about the pain even less. I'm unsure exactly how long she spent, but if I had to guess I'd say about 8-15 minutes. Next time I'll try and pay more attention since I won't have as many questions for her and will know more what to expect.
I've added some photos of the before and after I got hoem and was all bandaged up. I also added one of their very nice offices.
Excited to see how healing goes.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am personal friends with Jenn.

24 hour post

It's been a little over 24 hours since the procedure. By the time I went to bed last night I wasn't in any pain or discomfort at all, just a little annoyed at the covering and tape. It made it a little hard to sleep due to the tape.
This afternoon I removed the covering to take a shower and surprisingly there is absolutely no blistering or irritation. I took a shower just like any other day and put on a shirt afterwords just like normal with no cover on the tattoo.
So far very happy that I didn't have any irritations after the procedure.

I did have some mild itching yesterday but I attributed it to wearing my sweat-soaked gym shirt for too long after I got home from working out. Sometimes lunch is more important than a quick shower! :)

3 week update

I'm 3 weeks out from my 1st procedure and things seem to be moving along nicely. Significant lightening in the head area and noticeable lightening in the middle of all of the green areas on the body.
I'm also doing a test across the middle of the tattoo with kinesio tape to stimulate blood flow since that is what is helping to clear the ink. I'll update with how that goes after a few days.
