I had an arm lift and thigh lift procedure on dec 12 and I'm in the recovery process right now.
6 months ago i had a lower body lift by the same doctor and I'm mostly happy with my results ,that is why i decided to continue with my skin removal process with him.
The arm lift is not to bad recovery wise, but the thighs is another story..a lot of burning sensation and my left knee is deformed since i woke up from surgery do to fluid retention.
They didnt put drains in,I guess that is why I'm having a dificult time with the swelling.
I will keep posting pictured and updates ..

Thank you!
I'm already having a minor complication with the incision in my groin, right leg .It is red and swollen,I was told at the doctors office to keep the area clean and dry and keep taking antibiotics..hopefully it would clear out on its own.

Thigh lift extended

I went today to see the nurses at the doctors office.
The incision in my right leg up in my groing is red and swollen.
I'm very concerned because last time I had this it opened and the healing took forever..
I was told to keep taking antibiotics and keep the area clean and dry at all times.
No compression garments until the scar heals.

Oh my ! No drains & no compression binder ? Is that normal for the thigh lift ?

I made a big mistake not asking about drains during my consultation with the doctor,I thought all extended thigh lift where performed with drains...it seems he doesn't .And I was also told not to wear compression at least the first week to let the incisions heal better ,just jeep them clean and cover with gauze and if possible put a fan to blow air between my legs for better healing...well it didn't help at all..

can you share some more before and after pics?

I had thigh lift in March. Recovery was tough for me too. Felt like fire whenever I attempted to move or heaven forbid, walk. I also had an infection and a small opening at t-junction. I was forewarned this is a really sensitive area and I wished it didn't happen, but wasn't super surprising. After time (for me was about 10wks) post surgery, I felt more like myself and I Love!!!! my results. It was horrible but worth it...haha. Good luck.....I know it's terrible but it will pass and I hope you love what you see. J

Thigh lift opening

User Avatar
carolyn2002fl
Well unfortunely that redness I had on my inner top right thigh was a sign of a problem.
The incision opened on the T top section this morning...is very small but I'm really worry that it will continue expanding.
The left side same area seems to be healing fine..
I'm very worry now...????????
Wound care for now I guess..
????????

Sorry to read that you are experiencing difficulties. Are you moving around to much?

Thanks for your concern ☺.
I'm not really moving a lot,and I also have been following my doctors orders to the T..but this surgery has a tendency to have these types of problems..
I know it will heal eventually ,my only concern is not to get more openings or the one I have to keep expanding.,
December 22, 2016
Yeah, I know this not like the TT, recovery. All my research says these 2 lifts are the most complicated ones. Happy healing.

Carolyn, you are a brave and determined woman. Sorry to hear about this new area of difficulty but I remember reading your body lift review and how you got thru those difficulties. Given time these incisions will heal but you are probably feeling a lot of discomfort but know in the end you'll be happy with the results. Follow your surgeon's orders and rest as much as you can. Looking forward to hearing more as you heal.

Thanks you so much for your kind words !It is very frustrating to deal with more openings, but I got into this knowing that it could happen.
Hopefully with good wound care it will heal soon .
Thanks again!☺
