Cosmelan made my skin worse

After much research I decided to go for a Cosmelan peel as I was informed it was a safer option than laser. Unfortunately my melasma is now darker and has spread from this peel. Just a warning to anyone thinking of going through with the Peel. I wish I had been informed of the possibility of my melasma becoming worse as I would never have risked it. I'm now left in a terrible state and don't know what to do next. The clinic told me it could be worse for a year and to keep using the creams for a year but I feel that this can't be right. It has been over 3 months and it is just getting darker and darker with new patches appearing. There has been no support at all and it has caused a lot of emotional distress. I know this treatment works for some people but I would hate for anyone else to go through what I have.
