WORTH IT
I have struggled with weight 41yrs and was about to do a tummy tuck when I realized that doing so first would be like putting a band aid over a cut, as I love food. I can totally make lifestyle changes, but the sleeve is an added boost. I've met with several doctors, one I was Meh about, the other talked bad about the first medical group, the 3rd I totally fell in love with but the price was just very unrealistic and now today I met the One. It was a short visit but he answered my questions. I was ready to pay for half of my procedure today but was informed that I have to be medically cleared prior to getting a date. So I'll see my PCP at Kaiser for it and I hope to be ready to go mid February. It isn't real yet, but I'm working on it.

I had my surgery on 11/10/16. It was one of the three best decisions of my life. Yes, it was hard at times. Yes, you have to be patient and try to look toward the big pic( sorry, don’t mean to sound pompous or preachy)

No, no I completely hear you. I'm 3 months post op and I feel so healthy, I've lost close to 40lbs and I feel amazing, even tho I do get brain tired but that could also be my job. But otherwise I'm over the moon!!!

Today I received the orders needed prior to my procedure. Meeting with my PCP next week to start scratching items off my To Do list. Was told by my older sister, who totally doesn't understand what this struggle is like, that I'm taking the easy way out. She said just work out... HAHAHA yeah I can work out and lose 20-30lbs but the weight always finds its way back. So sister, don't tell me just work out. It frustrates me how narrow minded she is. People like her really [RS bleep] me off. I know I know, stupid is as stupid does.. Anyway, back to counting down the days!

Absolutely not. She's struggled with her weight recently since having kids... I'm like girlfriend, try doing that all your life? They aren't the ones who got teased and shot cause of the weight. But I'm smaller than her now so HA!! Just kidding!!

When my husband went to his previous employer to ask him if he would grant permission for our insurance company to cover the bariatric surgery I’ve been needing to do for the last 13 years, his comment was “doesn’t your wife know what a diet and exercise are?” Talk about being narrow minded since his 2nd wife is a tiny little woman. Says his wife has had two pregnancies for their 3 children and managed to lose the weight. And this coming from a man who’s net worth is over $60 million. And then makes his company motto towards his employees “EVERYONE MATTERS!” Yeah. Sure they do. Not when it comes to him having to cover a surgery that will save his devoted employees wife’s life. And after my husband designing 80% of his company’s products he continues to still make millions in today. Thank God my husband left last year and started working for a previous supervisor of his and was given some partnership in the company. The icing on the cake....my husbands company is now his previous employers company’s competitor now. And the man is furious my husband and his business partners have acquired one of his previous employers customer for the entire corporation that sells millions in the industry. Now our new insurance company is covering my surgery because his business partners have approved our insurance to cover the surgery. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it! You’re losing money and customers. And it’s not going to stop with just the one customer. So proud of my husband and the partners for doing that! Karma. It’s a real b*tch for those that deserve what they put out!

Just wanted to give an update, am scheduled to meet with PCP to get started on tests required for surgery clearance, AND doing my Bariatric Psych Eval next Friday 1/12/18!!! It's exciting and at the same time feels surreal cause I guess I haven't scratched any items off my pre-op Rx..
Also, I heard Mr Dr can do a mini sleeve and I considered it, but after careful consideration I decided to go FULL sleeve as I don't wanna end up having to get revision at later date, though I have no intentions of NOT following Dr's orders. Nonetheless I am super duper stoked about what is to come!! Will update after next Friday's appointments.
