Cooltone is helping my Abs. Yay!
$2,100
I’ve been looking into Emsculpt and Cooltone for a little bit; I chose Cooltone due to cost. Most places wanted 4K for 4 sessions of Emsculpt and I found a place that offered Cooltone at $3K for 12 sessions. (I ended up getting an $800 rebate so it was $2,200 total for my abs.)
Obs, I went with the Cooltone.
It’s a weird feeling, the paddles on your abdomen. It comes in bursts of intensity: you clench your abs with the machine, followed by a tapping (to clear out the lactic acid build up that can make you sore) At first, it's intense but it’s amazing how quickly a body adapts.
I was able to get to maximum strength midway during the second session, thereafter, maximum strength after 5-6 minutes. It’s really important to get to 100% with each paddle. (For best results.)
I did have a tiny bit of soreness the first 2 sessions but then no soreness after that.
I’ve had 6 sessions so far and this is what I’ve noticed:
Pros:
1. My lower back no longer gets sore. This was my main rationale for the money spent. For this reason alone, I’m quite happy
2. I’m starting to see/feel some definition in my ab area. I’ve struggled with some extra covid pounds so the definition isn't showing as much as it would have in say, January. I do feel like as I drop those extra pounds, the definition will improve.
3. When I touch my abs, I can feel the muscle building and my general core strength continues to improve.
Cons:
1. The first 3 sessions made my ovaries sore and I did have spotting. I’m assured this is “nothing to worry about “ but it’s still unnerving. The last 3 sessions, my ovaries didn't hurt nor were they sore for days afterwards. So that's been a nice improvement.
2. Cost + Ongoing cost. I’m told that Cooltone needs more maintenance sessions than Emsculpt. Now, this could be a ploy to sell more by my provider, as Cooltone officially claims it’s similar in maintenance to Emsculpt. Regardless, it’s a chunk of change.
3. My provider is extremely tough to schedule with. As per Cooltone recommendations, 2x's a week for maximum efficacy. I've not had more than 3 in a 2 week period. Although I'm assured this won't hinder my final result, it's frustrating. And I feel like they're just saying that because it's convenient for them.
I would recommend that before you buy a package, confirm the availability first. I was assured this was "no problem" prepayment. After I paid, it was different. Grr...
Due to my period (not recommended during menstruation) and as I said, the schedule was goofed up so I don't go back for my other six sessions for over a month. :/.
I'll post my before and after pics then. And an update.

Pics so far. More to come.
I’m going to leave it at “unsure” until I’m finished with my 12 sessions. I also just bought a package of 12 for my glutes. I’m a bit more skeptical about this making a huge difference, as other reviewers have been underwhelmed.
It was an impulse buy as it was half price that day.

Cooltone ABS and just in case: Review500
It may be too late to add this but just in case: Review500.
Due to scheduling issues, I have only had 1 Cooltone Ab treatment so far in November. It’s not ideal but I still have 4 more scheduled close together towards the end of the month. (12 total)
I feel muscle building on my abs. It’s giving me extra motivation not to stress eat— as much.
So far, the Abs have been worth it. I was worried at first I had wasted my money and time, and money.
I am seeing a small difference, best of all, I’m feeling a difference in strength and my lower back doesn’t feel sore anymore.
If only I hadn’t had a few extra Covid pounds sneak on, ugh. After my last treatment, I’ll post the before and afters the spa took.
