CoolSculpting - Inner Thigh

WORTH IT
I am trying to get rid of that extra 'bit' on my inner thighs that no amount of diet, working out or running has been able to get rid of. I feel like the older I get, the harder it gets. I had gone to Dr. Clark for a previous procedure and she recently started her own new practice called Granite Bay Cosmetic. I got an email newsletter promoting a "CoolSculpting Day" where you get a mini private consultation and special pricing if you buy that day. The discounted pricing made it do-able so I signed up for two treatments: each inner thigh. The CoolSculpting technician today said I was borderline of needing another session - but I wanted to see how this went before I signed up for more.

OK so the procedure itself wasn't that bad overall and I have a very low tolerance for pain. I am a little bit of a baby... It gets VERY cold and the beginning by far is the worst part. My CoolSculpting technician was super knowledgable - she knew EXACTLY each step what I would feel. She would literally explain everything down to the minute and it blew me away that she was right every time. She would say: "The first seven minutes of this is the worst...you will feel cold and pinchy but then it just gets numb for the rest of the time and it is more tolerable" and I swear she was right every step of the way! At one point I joked with her to let me see the machine so I could watch the time, and know when the seven minutes was up!

After she takes off the hand piece to reveal a lovely red & raised block of 'fat' she massages the area with a Z Wave. Never heard of that but I guess this is the most important part because this is what actually destroys all the frozen fat cells. She says they do this at Granite Bay Cosmetic because it has been proven to enhance results. I was wondering if I would get charged for it later - and it must have shown on my face because she said they do it for free because they just want the patient to have the best result. Yeah me too! Anyway so then she massages the treated area with this super loud Z wave thing and she describes exactly how it will feel and it does feel JUST like that: it felt like tiny rubber bands zapping me but oddly after about 20 seconds I couldn't feel anything. It was loud but honestly I couldn't even feel it that much I was so numb from the freezing.

Tonight it looks like I have a frozen hickey on my thighs! lol It is definitely swollen and red. There is a tiny mark from the hand piece but mostly it is just red. The treated area feels a little tender to the touch but totally tolerable. You know that feeling when your toes get super cold and then after they warm up they get that 'hot' feeling? That is how it feels. No restrictions in terms of working out - no downtime - I can do whatever I feel up to doing.

She said the areas will be numb for about three weeks and she was right about everything else so i have no reason to doubt her. Oh she also said it will start to itch really bad when it is 'healing' in a couple of weeks but it is on the inside so you can't just itch it like a bug bite. Weird! But I will see what happens. I will try to update as I go and post my after pictures. Wish me luck!

Ive had coolsculptin in multiple areas and am happy every time. The device she used sounds like the same massage device one of my practitioners used on me. It forces the frozen (which are now sharp) to kill surrounding fat cells. My other practitioner just does a 2 monute massage and that works wonders as well. I was told to hand massage multiple time a day to help with the this process and have had geeat results massaging multiple times a day for the first two weeks in the affected area. Sounds like she gave good advice thus far. The nerve pain/tingling is annoying but not terribly painful and yes you will be numb for a few weeks. I noticed that I did not start seeing results until 6 weeks in so be patient. The results I saw were enough to make go back for more. Good luck!!!

Hi! Thanks for your comments - you are spot on so far. I had never heard that about massaging the affected area yourself - makes sense - that's a good idea. Yes - the first few days it hurt - it was like a 'bruised' feeling. But that wore off within a week then it just went numb. I just and I am six weeks out. I would say I am JUST starting to see some slight difference. I can not see anything per se but my thighs do rub together / touch less. Thanks for your comments - I will post an update too.

I am six weeks in and am just starting to see the slightest of differences. It isn't a lot but I can tell. My thighs don't rub together as much. Now with summer here I am wearing more shorts too so I can sort of tell when I wear shorts that it has gotten better. I will post more updates too.

Six week update

User Avatar

Ok so wow - six weeks went by so fast! I am just now starting to see the slightest of differences. It isn't dramatic but I would say I my thighs don't touch together or rub quite as much. One of the ladies commented below that you just start the see the differences at six weeks and that seems just about right. I don't want - or - need "thigh gap". That's not why I am doing this. I would be happy with a subtle difference. That's why I didn't sign up for surgery or lipo - I just wanted to try and help it as I get older it gets harder. I just needed a little help ya know?! Lol

I will try to post update photos in two weeks. That will be 8 weeks. Maybe I will actually see the difference? We will see. So far though besides the first few days it has been no big deal. Can't feel anything.

Ive had coolsculpting in multiple areas and Six weeks is usually the mark I see results also. The magic starts around this time so be a bit more patient as the results will be gradual

Yeah I am honestly a little scared to take the 8 week pic because what if I don't see a good result...?! Will I be crushed?! lol

Thanks for your review Cali girl - I meant will you be crushed if you don't see a good result?! Hang in there and give it time. Coolsculpting results do take time.

8 weeks Out

User Avatar

Ok so I am about 8-9 weeks out. I have to say physically I feel a difference - my thighs don't touch/rub anymore like they used to. Can I visually see a difference? Maybe slightly. My clothes fit differently that is for sure. I guess I will wait to decide until I am the full three months out.

Three months later were you happy with the results or were they very slight? I have an appointment coming up and I'm skeptical
