Downtime May Depend on Level of Treatment Used Plus Your Own Body

A lot of reviews for this don't specify which depth of treatment they had. I debated whether to do the lighter setting or deeper setting. I got the deeper one because I want more collagen (age 45, sagging skin). The lighter option doesn't require numbing cream. I did get numbed for the deeper treatment and didn't feel any pain during. After the cream wore off, my face hurt pretty bad the rest of the first day. At first, I wasn't super red and was able to go to the grocery store with my jacket collar flipped up without getting stared at. My skin definitely had that sandpaper quality. I was told not to shower, wash it or put any cream or serums on at all on for 24 hours at least. Better to wait 48. Nothing occlusive like petroleum or glycerin products. My provider said this is a common mistake people make after CoolPeel.

I started to swell after a few hours, and woke up Day 2 VERY swollen. I've had microneedling and Ultherapy treatments before, so I knew my body's typical response and expected swelling. But I'm more swollen with CoolPeel than any other treatment I've done. I've done a few rounds with ice packs to try to help. And I'm very, very red.

Writing this on Day 2. Hoping tomorrow the swelling will go down I can cover up the worst of it with makeup, as I have places to go. The least downtime and best results I've had are with microneedling RF with exosomes, in case others are looking for options. But I hope this gives me good results once I heal!!

All these types of deeper treatments work by damaging the dermis so that your body puts down more collagen when it repairs. So you don't want to inhibit inflammation with ibuprofen, etc. I took some Tylenol so I could sleep about 14 hours after treatment. Pain is gone on Day 2.

I plan to update y'all as I really value people's reviews on this site!
