Had my face zapped on 9/07. Hyper-pigmentation is my issue. Minimal pain with lidocaine numbing cream. So far some slight swelling. I have had several IPLs and one Fraxel. IPLs are ok, I just didn't notice any major impact. Areas were slightly lightened, but no OMG moments. Fraxel was a bust, swelling was scary. It hurt like hell and was expensive. Don't waste your money. Here are my pics from day 1 and day 2, I will continue to update! PS- had a couple of test zaps with Picoway!

I am worse — very sorry I did this

Are you sure it was excel v? They usually dont use lidocaine prior to the treatment as the excel v has its own cooling mechanism built in and is only mildly discomforting

Yes, positive I had an Excel V. Lidocaine was used to lessen the pain of the zaps and yes, there was a hose blowing cool air for further comfort.

The original post was done in 2017, I think the before and after picture window has closed. I've had several IPLs since then and an after picture would be misleading.

SundayTrot help! I’m freaking out a little bc my face has red/ purple spots almost look like scabs a day after treatment. Kind of looks like your day after picture. Did you have scarring??

I have had Excel V in the same pigmentation spots 3 times now & they are still the same - slightly darker now! I will stick to IPL in future as that has always worked on my porcelain skin. Excel V BIG FAIL!
