3rd Time Rhinoplasty with Dr Mao

So far I have had a terrific experience with Dr Mao and his staff. He performed a complicated revision on the tip of my nose. The procedure was done three months ago and the results so far are turning out terrific. I still have some uneven swelling as my nose was extremely uneven beforehand and is still healing. I was terrified to get this procedure done because my previous revision yielded no results. I was so scared this would make my nose look worse. Dr Mao was very confident from the beginning and thankfully I chose him to fix my nose. He is perfectionist and actually listens and I knew he could do what I wanted. One of my criteria for choosing a dr was interviewing drs who were reviewed by patients as being very frank about what they could accomplish. My nose was very long and down turned and I clearly stated that I wanted my nose shortened by 1/4"or more. Dr Mao was the only dr who confidently stated that he could do it and he did. I think shorting my long skinny nose on my long skinny face has taken years off my appearance. I wish I could fast forward the healing process and be 100% healed, but revisions often take a long time to heal so I have a long way to go, but already my nose looks way better than it did before.

After getting this procedure many friends of mine admitted that they too had some cosmetic work done at some point in their past. Every one of them also admitted that the initial recovery made them depressed. I experienced this too. I'm only including this because I want others to know that it is very common to feel really down after putting your face or body through such a traumatic procedure. It is scary to wait to make sure you will turn out ok. I am also a mother of two young children and it was hard to go through this while my family depended on me. Even so, I am very happy I chose to do it and I think feeling more confident in my appearance makes me a happier person which reflects onto every aspect of my life.
