I believe I am the typical patient in need of a breast reduction. I've been getting attention ever since I was in middle school about my large breast. I have also always felt I was never meant to have large breast. I'm not a shy or introverted person my style choice just didn't fit the way my body due to my breast size. Once I hit high school I contemplated the idea of getting a reduction. It wasn't until junior year when I started getting in shape I realized even weight lose didn't significantly decrease the size of my breast. Also trying to lose weight proved very difficult when my large breast were always getting in the way and always leaving me with extreme back pain after it all. My mother also went through a breast reduction in her twenties so I knew what I was getting myself into. Although when she had her breast reduction she got a pretty severe infection she fully supported the idea of me getting a breast reduction.
The process began around August when I made a consultation with a PS to determine if I would be eligible for a BR, he said I was a perfect candidate. I went through about 3 months of physical therapy in order for my insurance to cover the cost due to my age. It was in February I got the letter back from my insurance saying they approved it. My surgery was booked for April 18th! I couldn't have been more happy, I was so excited never once anxious.
After the surgery I immediately saw the difference. Although they were swollen my back pain was completely gone and my body seemed totally different. Its been 3 weeks since my surgery and I am very happy with my results. I am still in a surgical bra which makes it a little hard to wear some shirts but I can tell once I'm able to wear regular bra I will be ecstatic. My only concern since the surgery would be the symmetry of my breast. There was a small difference in size of my natural breast which my PS noticed and wanted to correct. He took about 500cc from the right breast and 600cc from the left.
About a week after the surgery I noticed a difference in the shape of them which I figured was normal due to the different amounts taken out of them. It wasn't until recently my concerns have increased a little. The swelling has gone down which is the next step in what my breast will eventually look like. Looking at them now it is quite noticeable the difference in symmetry. The right nipple is much higher than the left. Although I know my breast aren't fully healed if anyone has any experience or knowledge of what maybe happening I would really appreciate it.
Other than that I am overjoyed! I believe no matter how my breast turn out it was all worth it and my new breast fit my personality and have allowed the confidence I know has always been there I can now feel!

Good for you for doing this for yourself so young! I am 43 and seriously, I wish I had done this when I was much younger. I can see the difference in size and nipple position but don't know enough to comment on how that might change as they heal. I am 11 days post op myself. Hope you get some good reassurance! Have you asked your PS about it?

Right after I posted this I actually noticed a slight difference, my left breast is beginning to defend more into a natural position which is actually making the nipple higher. Thanks so much for you input though! Congrats on your BR as well!!

Love reading your story it is genetic my daughter was 34DDD at age 11. She is now 23 and I worry about her back. I am having mine reduced in November and I wish I had done this years ago I am a 36DDD.

More natural! Starting to see nipple symmetry

Recently after I posted this I actually noticed a slight difference, my left breast is beginning to descend more into a natural position which is actually making the nipple higher. I think what is working is the gauze type pads my PS gave me. I fold them in half and place the folded part in the crease of my under boob and place it along the underneath sort of wrapping it around the sides. This is helping to shape my breast while they are still in the healing process.
