Completely REGRET Microblading!

Almost a year ago I had my brows microbladed. I’m in my 40’s and they were getting sparse, which was making me look older, and I was tired of constantly filling them in with cosmetics.
I did my research (or so I thought) and went to a very highly rated technician in my area who does beautiful work. I’m not mentioning the provider in this review because she was excellent. The ONLY thing she failed to do was warn me that in time the pigment on my brows would fade to a ridiculous reddish or salmon color and cause me more issues than I had to begin with.

Let me be clear- I was told that eventual fading was likely, however, it’s what color they faded INTO that’s problematic.

At first, I LOVED my brows! She nailed the shape & color, and they looked SO natural. So much so, that I had a couple of friends ready to make an appointment. I especially appreciated that she was able to “even-out” the symmetry, because one of my brows was naturally higher than the other.
I’ve been very careful to keep skin serums & the like off my brows so I wouldn’t cause fading, and I don’t have oily skin or any conditions that may cause this to go awry.

Imagine my surprise when I noticed my brow color getting more & more reddish/pink as time went on.
Also, the perfect little “hair-like” strokes - that were so natural looking at first - began to get smudgy looking, basically ruining the natural look.

So I started googling this and was shocked to find out that, YES, this is what happens. That’s where I failed me. I will never again have another procedure where I haven’t thoroughly checked out what happens in the long run.

Luckily, I had a good brow shape to begin with, & she basically stuck with it, only going outside the natural shape to achieve symmetry, so it doesn’t look as terrible as some before & afters I’ve seen.

But now I’m BACK to filling in my eyebrows with cosmetics (the thing that caused me to want microblading in the first place!) with the ADDED issue of trying to find something that covers the unnatural faded color without ending up looking like Groucho Marx.

Just don’t do it. Stick with your brow pencil & be glad you’re not trying to cover up a weird brow color.
