Shower seat with back

things I wish I had!

Yesterday my mom brought me a shower chair, I never thought about needing something like this. Even with my husband to hold onto ...I tire quickly! Your back muscles fatigue from holding this position, and the binder is off during this time, so the support is very limited! I also have been walking around a lot as part of a surgical recovery, but the positioning in which you are able to obtain whether laying down or sitting is very limited....my bones in my backside are so sore! I have sat on pillows & everything, but what I wish I would've thought of was a donut pillow! Due to the inability to lay or sit on the sides this is a very rough position. Another thing would be adhesive remover for your skin, with daily dressing changes my skin suffers & the adhesive makes it itch! Milk of mag......yes you want to start this right away....take it from someone who didn't! I'm sure there are more items that I will add as I heal!

my forst shower...

Today I was allowed to take off my binder for an hr & shower...this was tougher than I expected, the pressure from the binder actually feels better! As for the shower, my husband got in to help hold me bc I am still very weak & became quite light headed with standing. We removed the dressings before the shower & replaced them after, but note that it is extremely difficult to get that binder back on tight with just one other person. I feel better today with moving & I am able to get out of bed alone now. It is about 48 hrs post op in the pics, so there is still a very large amout of swelling.
