I had my first procedure on 10/4/16. My second is scheduled for 11/15, with the third on 12/20. I am disappointed to say that the first treatment has not provided any relief, intercourse is still impossible. Has anyone else found that things started to work, when the first Mona Lisa made no difference at all? I'm just at wit's end, this has really affected our marriage.

I am sorry to hear this, for both of us. I've had my second treatment, but have not attempted anything yet. Please let me know how things go for you after number 3. Good Luck!

Yes, please let me know as well. I went in for my third treatment and told the doctor I had terrible pain and intercourse was impossible. She checked me out and said that I had some kind of "chafing" sore, but said it couldn't happen from the machine. Since I haven't had any kind of sexual relations,I don't know how it could appear. Needless to say, I didn't have the third treatment yet. She said to administer cortisone cream for a week to see if it will heal.

That is just such disappointing news for you. My husband and I did make an attempt after the second treatment, and the result was the same, absolutely impossible. I am normally a very positive person, but am feeling much hope now.

I just had my-wait for it-fourth treatment. I have had absolutely no benefit from this procedure. The pain at entry (the introitus) is intolerable. My doctor consulted with other doctors doing this procedure and now tells me it will take 5 attempts. He has had me use vaginal dilators and all sorts of lubricants. I had breast cancer and can't use estrogen, am taking Arimidex which causes dryness. If I don't get relief after the fifth treatment-I will see this through-I intend to get very loud. Please stay in touch, thanks.

I was told to try physical therapy and dilators

OH, and the doctor wants to give me a shot of kenalog at my 5th treatment, a steroid. At the introitus area where penetration is so painful. He wrote a prescription for the lidocaine cream mixture he uses to numb me so I can tolerate even attempting intercourse with my husband. All this for such an AMAZING life changing new procedure. Right. Good luck using the vaginal dilators-I've been doing it for months now and still have unbearable pain.

My doctor gave me estrogen cream to use after the first procedure. I had to apply it three times a week. This was to help speed up the healing process. Intimacy hurt the first time. The second time I used Vagisil insert moisturizing gel and that helped tremendously. Don't focus on the pain but concentrate on making it work. Take your time and take things slow. It works.

So sorry to hear this!

Just a suggestion. Try Maca root and collagen. I'm not a doctor and it worked for me after a few weeks.

I don't know what Maca root is, but I'll look into it. Thank you for your help.

I was told by doctor that one will see results after the 2nd treatment. So, I am waiting and hoping that 2nd treatment will help me.

I hope so!

Just apply a little moisturizer. I insert vagisil just before getting busy after the 2nd therapy and things felt back to normal. It was a little mild discomfort at first but nothing like the first time. You'll get there, just relax and remember a little dab will do you.

You may have tried to be intimate to soon. Wait longer than the initial 3 days they suggest. I noticed the difference after the 2nd treatment. It was a slight irritation at first but it didn't stop me from having sex and after about 4 minutes, the pain went away. I inserted a prepared tube of vagisil lubricant a couple of hours before just in case and I everything was normal as before menopause. I tend to continue using the lubricant until I'm sure I don't need it. Don't expect the worse and relax. You'll get there.

I did use the he vagisil lubricant, though the doctor said that there seemed to be plenty of moisture now. I did wait longer than three days, and unfortunately, the pain is very deep and does not disappear after a few minutes.

After the final Mona Lisa Procedure, my doctor suggested I use a vibrator with estrogen cream and to have orgasms at least 3 times a week. This stimulated natural lubrication, healing and stretch. I wasn't able to do this 3 times weekly. Once a week was enough to get me to where I needed to be in the healing process. Although I don't climax with it, I still use the vibrator for stretching purposes when I feel like I might need assistance when things seem to be a little tight.

Still no improvement. My second treatment was on 11/15. My third is scheduled for 12/20.

Use a little Vagisil moisturizer to help get things started. Don't focus on the pain. Just let things happen. You are probably tense and expecting the worse. That's how I was after the 2nd treatment but after applying the Vagisil or Astroglide, I forgot about the pain and started concentrating on the current situation. Everyone is different so just relax.
