Been a very Rocky journey.. & its finally going steady.. developed staph in the process of healing, but got that taking care of....now im just patiently waiting for this to fully heal..Got my right breast re stitched to speed up the healing process but come to find out the whole time i was allergic to the tape they put on to keep the stitches from stretching, that was part of the reason for the opening of my incisions....so its gonna take . longer for it to heal...????...... To Clear things up.. Dr. Cochran is a Very good Dr. he NEVR not ONCE Neglected me during this hard time.. every thing he told me other Doctors said the same..if Dr Cochran wasn't sure of something he'll direct me to someone who was.. He seen me EVERY WEEK some times 2 or 3 times a week with no charge..him & his staff calls & checks up on me.. they made me feel as if i wasn't alone.. That's why i never doubted Dr Cochran on whatever he tells me... I looked at things from his point of view.... it wasn't so much about him being mad, it was about me trusting him to do my surgery and still trusting everything he say when things went wrong..SMH Not everybody's a bad guy...Yes im currently seeing him weekly..YES he wants to see me til every thing is fully healed and cleared..YES he still gets a Five star rate & Yes if i was to get another surgery done Dr Cochran with be my SURGEON. But Thanks to those who was praying & supporting me.. Still in a slow healing process but eventually this shall pass... ????????????????????????

Wow!!! What are you using on it?

He sounds like he is trying to avoid a malpractice suit. I would go back to the hospital and get a lawyer. He's not doing his job

If you still have a foul smell that is infection. I love Dr C but you have to go with your instincts. If your gut tells you something more is wrong trust it. It your body and nothing is wrong with getting a second or third opinion.

Yes he is a good Dr. but i think ima go with my heart... something isn't right... he tells me the same exact thing Every week.. no infection just keep it clean with soap and water.. and don't let it stop me from doing what i want to do... in that order EVERY WEEK.. im going to the hospital tomorrow and this time ima be seen and get different opinions.. so far 3 people told me it was necrotic wounds & it was infected... im just trying to avoid getting Dr. Cochran upset with me..

At this point it's about you feeling as if your concerns are being heard. Dr C will be alright. Do what you have too. Sending you well wishes.

Brittney let me say this to you and hear me clearly.....you only have one life....guard it, you can't worry about who will be mad with you about you looking after you. I was his patient I had issues and yes he comes across as having your best interest but at the same time down play things that are clearly a problem that were confirmed at the ER. Please get a second opinion before you loose your breast.

I'm a nurse. It looks like you have an infection. The symptoms you're describing, is infection. Seek some more medical attention. You might need some antibiotics.

Hi, I am a doctor and though not a plastic surgeon..your doctor definitely needs to take this more seriously than he is. It appears infected and necrotic (blood supply is compromised so part of the skin is dying ). You definitely need to be sorted ASAP because this has the potential to make you very unwell and end in disaster . Let us know how you get on. Best of luck

I've been following your story, have you seen another doctor? Did you get antibiotics or any other form of treatment. Sorry you are going through this. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for coming on to give her some valuable advice, you are right about the way her issues are being played down to not serious because it was done with me I know first hand I had what could've grown to be Life threatening but told it's no big deal.

Please go to the ER. I have not had BA but I have a little bit of a medical background.

Good work on the quitting. Even if one never smokes again after surgery, the smoking before surgery causes necrosis, too. We do not want someone reading this to think that the only skin/fat death risk is from smoking after the surgery. I know of a surgeon who requires quitting a full six months in advance and he has patients come in for testing to confirm compliance. I noticed many ladies on here are instructed to quit a month before their surgery, but I do not know what the "average" time would be.
