Things are going well. Healing seems good. They are a bit bigger than I was hoping for, but we will see how they ultimately shake out. Trying on previously before "forbidden" tops has been fun. Looking forward to buying a bathing suit "off the rack." Tried on the bra I wore the day of surgery- that's the orange picture. Plenty of room to spare!

Your boobs look gr8 ;-) Happy shopping!

I noticed you said your nipples were sensitive from being in your cycle not long after your surgery. Did your sensation already return fully? This is the one thing holding me back. I'm the same size as you so I really need to have a reduction. The chance of loss in sensation concerns me though. thanks! Your follow up photos are looking great!

Post-op Follow-Up with PS

NiksBoobs
Saw my PS today - I'm 5 weeks out in 2 days. She lifted all restrictions and said that she does not need to see me again unless I have concerns/issues. I had some concerns about the outer part where I feel I still have some swelling. Doc said to give it 6 months - she feels like the swelling will decrease and they will "shape up." I also get to go bra shopping - I am actually so excited for that. It is going to be SO WEIRD! (In a good way, of course!) Any recommendations on bras?

I swore I would never wear another underwire bra again, but the selection of wireless bras isn't that great. The bra-fitter at Nordstrom's recommend the Natori Whisper. Super lightweight and i can hardly feel the underwire. It isn't inexpensive but I just bought the one

And the post sent itself!
Anyway, I love the Natori bra and otherwise I have a few pullover stretchy bras and a couple of Maidenform soft cups. I went from a 34hh to a 34dd, but really don't require a lot of support. Have fun!

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll report back on what I find.

How exciting! I go for 3 week post op tomorrow.

I have been wearing wireless for now, Warner's and maidenform form Marshall's and tjmax. My surgeon advised me not to invest in an expensive bra for a Lear six month when I'm my "true size"

My PS said the same thing - just buy a couple to get through and then at 6 months I could really buy a whole new "bra wardrobe." Last night at Macys I measured as a D and at Victoria's Secret a DD. I was really hoping for a C, so I'm kind of bummed. I hope that it is just swelling, but I don't think I have a whole cup size worth of swelling.

You look wonderful, congratulations!
How are your scars coming along? Are you putting cream on them?i am 1 week post op and am thrilled to be able to go fun shopping for bras soon!
October 28, 2015
Thank you! The scars seem to be doing fine. I'm 5 weeks post today and my PS advised that my scars will get redder still before they get better. She said usually the 6 week mark is where they look the worst. She just cleared me to put stuff on them so I've used Vitamin E oil at night, but I'm not sure what to put on in the morning. I'm afraid the oil will get on my clothes and I don't think I want that while I sit at work all day. This morning I tried just plain old unscented Eucerin lotion. Just something to work on the flakiness and dryness.

I use Vitamin E cream. You could use that for in the mornings.

I have to say you look great!! I had my surgery 2 weeks after yourself. Just went bra shopping myself at 3 weeks post. I didn't buy any wire bras. I will when I'm fully healed. One was a Warners, with no back fat. It's a cheaper brand. I usually get a Wacoals. They last forever!!! I bought 2 bras actually, the other is cotton. They are both 36C, it's a Bali. I think my breast at the sides are still swollen. But these were comfortable. Did your PS talk about silicone sheeting for scars yet? I have mine but I'm waiting before I use them, because I'm peeling a little still. You can see what the silicone sheeting looks like. Mine were $125.00. You only need one set, they can be rinsed off. Good luck, and happy bra shopping. I went to Macy's in Manhattan, so many, you could spend the day just in the bra area.

If you go to my site I posted the silicone sheeting product, is what I meant.

Thanks for sharing! I have just been using vitamin e oil at night. I don't know if it is helping, but it doesn't seem to be hurting, so I'm going with it. I'm wearing Coobie brand bras - I don't think they are the most supportive, but they don't rub my incisions, so I'm sticking with them for now. Take Care!

Today makes one-month since my surgery. I have a follow-up appointment on 10/26 and I am looking forward to hearing what the PS thinks of my recovery. I also got my first period since the surgery and that seems to have set the girls on fire. I feel like everything is more sensitive - incisions, nipples, feelings - I'm hoping most of that is hormonal. I think my scars are looking redder this week too, but I don't know that there is anything wrong with that, I think I may just be overly sensitive. Also, I've been back at work full-time now for a week so I'm definitely doing more and it may be related to that. Overall, still happy with the decision, just feeling emotionally and physically ouchie.

I'm s few weeks behind you - do you still have the uncomfortable swelling? I'm officially at 2 weeks and my sides are so swollen!
October 22, 2015
I find that by the end of the day, I'm feeling pretty swollen on the outsides of my breasts. Also the incisions underneath are also painful by the end of the day. Painful may be too strong - I'm just ouchie. I'm guessing it is because I'm at work, so I'm vertical all day as opposed to the first few weeks where I was mostly reclining the majority of the time. Looking forward to this weekend so I can be lazy and rest up. I go to the doc in 4 days, so I'm looking forward to hearing what she has to say. I do feel better and farther along at 4 weeks than at 2, so hang in there!
October 22, 2015
Thanks for the encouragement - I had a good night sleep and noticing how much of a difference a day makes. It's nice to read where I'll be in another week or two. Enjoy your restful weekend!

Thanks for your honest evaluation of your experience. I am 34H and hoping to go to a 34 C/D. My surgery is tomorrow, yikes!! Recently at my pre-op the surgeon really stressed taking it VERY easy for 6 weeks. He said that people get into trouble because the outside scars heal much faster than the inside ones. He also mentioned that you heal faster in that area if you don't get your heart rate up. I knew I couldn't walk the dogs but I was surprised I couldn't take a good walk! I really hope I don't gain wait being sedentary.

I am really late getting involved in this community but am happy I finally joined. I think I've been in denial that I am actually going through with this!
Anyway, I think you look great! I bet if you try to rest more when you are not at work that will help :) Good luck with your healing!

Good luck today TaTa!! Can't wait to hear how it went.
